Over 6 years ago, when Kara Mia was located in Mississauga and under another management, we catered from them for a wedding and had the worst experience. Since then, I heard it closed down and found it much later that it had reopened in Markham. ... I later found out it was under new management since a few years ago and so I thought one day I'll give it another shot. I'm so glad I did, because not only is it much better and the staff friendly and welcoming, but they also offer a safe dining environment with covid protocols in place. I also love that there is a prayer space area. The restaurant itself is pretty fancy and the decor is nice. A halal Italian inspired cuisine that offers pastas, burgers, steaks and much more? Yes please! I love that the menu had an extensive amount of choices and catered to different tastes. A lot of the items had a saffron base and I tried those, over the pasta (which I had a few months ago at the bloggers event and it was delicious). The chicken wasn't too dry, which I enjoyed and steak was well done. I also quite loved how cheesy the saffron poutine was. Items I tried included: Breaded Shrimp (the highlight for me!) Saffron Poutine (the best part was the cheese!)
