Hip Hop is one of themost popular classes sought at our studio. We love watching students grow in their creativity, expression, and most of all have fun! With restrictions starting to lift, we hope to be in person teaching classes soon. Until then, online Zoom classes continue this week. Please remember that your Zoom class links remain the same during this time.

Thank you to everyone for attending your online Zoom class(es) this past week. We have had great feedback from our instructors; our students rocked it and did so amazing! With current restrictions in place yet for another two weeks, we will continue learning and growing through our online platform. Let's all be POSITIVE, OPTIMISTIC and DETERMINED! Together we can accomplish great things!

KPA is committed to continuing to grow in all aspects of performing, no matter what obstacle may come our way ... and last night's hiccup with technology was no exception. Yet we preserved and kept on going!

We may not be able to connect in person, but we will focus our energy into making the most of what we have thisperformance season! Zoom classes continue this week.

First day of online classes is in the books! It was great to see students and teachers reconnect, dance together and aboveall, SMILE!

The day has finally come!! We are looking forward to a new beginning for all of our studio families and students. A few days ago we introduced a Welcome to KPA video showcasing our efforts to make our studio as safe as possible for all of us. As classes begin TODAY, here are a few important things to keep in mind: 1. All student drop off and entry into the studio will take place through our back doors at the rear of the building. Please drive around the mural side of the bu...ilding for back alley access. Welcome Back KPA decals have been placed on our entry doors. Please have your student exit the vehicle and proceed to drive down the alley to keep the flow of traffic as smooth as possible. 2. If you are a parent to a preschool or primary aged student you may park along the mural side of the building and walk your child into the studio. 3. All students in Grade 4+ must wear a mask. Masks are to be worn in all studio common areas (hallways, bathrooms, front lobby). Students will not be required to wear masks during class. 4. Shoe racks have been moved to the back of the studio. Each studio will have an assigned rack. If your class is in Studio 1, your shoes will be placed on Shoe Rack 1. 5. Please try to limit what you bring to the studio; we will not have a Lost and Found and all items left behind will be discarded each day. 6. Instructors will be in each studio to sanitize student hands prior to class. Hooks have been strategically spaced and placed in each studio for students to hang their coats and masks on. Students will be assigned to a taped floor marker to allow for physical distancing during class. 7. Classes will be shortened by 10 minutes to allow for proper sanitization in between classes. 8. The front doors will be the studios exit point. At the end of each class, students will grab their shoes and walk to the front lobby. Decals have been placed on the floor to allow for physical distancing. For all students under the age of 13, parents will be required to come to the front door to pick up their child; older students are free to leave on their own. Each night, KPA will have front staff to help with parent pick up. We know this year will be a bit different, but we also know that as one big family we can work together to take care of one another! Welcome to the 2020/21 Performance Season! After the questionable last few months that has left us all slightly off-kilter, we are looking forward to a new beginning for all of our studio families and students. We have put together a little Welcome to KPA video showcasing our efforts to make our studio as safe as possible for all of us. We are PUMPED about getting back to class; dance, drama, and musical theatre have missed us all! We hope your familys return to school has been a blessing, and no matter which direction you chose for your kids this year, we are so glad you chose us too! To close our 2020-2021 KPA Teaching Team Highlight Reel we feature Mr. Shane! Hi, Mr. Shane here. Im so excited that classes are back in session and Im so ready to get back to my home away from home! Im going into my second year teaching at KaRAR, however it will be my seventh year dancing as a student. Cant wait to make many new memories with my favoirite people!

Say hello to Miss Loray - another KPA student assistant. Hey! My name is Loray and I am so pumped to come back to the studio this fall. Being able to assist with teaching classes once again this year is something I am extremely excited for and I cant wait to see all of your faces. See you soon!

KPA Teaching Team Highlight - Miss Mikayla! I am very excited to see everyone back at KaRAR enjoying and doing the one thing we love and share a passion for. There will be new challenges but I see these as a new opportunity to get closer and grow as one big family. I enjoy every style of dance but have grown a passion for Hip Hop. I have been dancing for eight years and am so excited to see what is to come.

Say hello to Miss Satyra!Satyra has been a part of KaRAR for five years. Her favourite genres of dance include Tap, Contemporary, and Ballet. This year Satyra is thrilled to be teaching Ballet 1 Technique and Choreography and cannot wait to accomplish new growth throughout the studio!

Today we feature another student assistant from our teaching team - Miss Robyn. Im Miss Robyn and I am so excited to be coming back to KaRAR and to see everyone doing the things they love. I have been dancing with KaRAR for over ten years and I have been teaching for three. My favourite genre of dance is Ukrainian; but it goes without saying that I love many more styles such as Hip Hop, Contemporary, Tap and Ballet! This place that many call their home away from home is one-of-a-kind. The joy that everyone has and the welcoming people make this more than just a community, but a family! There is so much support that goes throughout the studio to make everyone feel the best. KaRAR has been my place to relax and focus on the good that comes with each day. I cant wait to see you all again and hope that you have all been doing well!

Our Teaching Team Highlight reel continue with a feature of Miss Sophia. Hi, Im Sophia! I will be teaching Junior Tap/Jazz and Tap 1/4, as well as assisting in Hip Hop 6/7, 8/9 and Contemporary 3. Im looking forward to seeing all of my past students and of course meeting my new ones! Im super excited to get back into the studio and start dancing again!

Today we say hello to a KPA student assistant - Miss Gretta! Im Miss Gretta. Ive been dancing for 11 years; and my favourite genres of dance are Ballet and Ukrainian. I love teaching because it lets me combine my love of dance with my love of children! Im excited to be back as a student teacher in the Ukrainian program!

KPAs drama program has grown so much over the past few years. We are so thrilled to have Miss Sara back teaching this program. Hey, Im Sara! I love getting to teach drama. I discovered a love of theater when I was in school plays growing up and never grew out of it. After theater school, touring with a show, and starting a family, Im so excited to be at KaRAR sharing the thing I love most! Looking forward to teaching (and learning) with everyone this year!

Say hello to another KPA instructor- Miss Maddi! KPA is thrilled to have her apart of the studios teaching team this performance season. Hello, Im Maddi and Ive been dancing for 10 years. My favourite types of dance are pointe and hip hop. I teach a variety of dance classes and drama classes, and Im so excited to see my students again and to meet new ones!

This week many of our students are heading back to school. We wish all our KPA families well as they adjust to new routines, new protocols, and new guidelines. For these reasons, we have mindfully set the opening of our studio classes to the week of September 14th. There will be a lot to get used to, and we want to respect our families as they do just that. See you all in a couple weeks!

Come Grow with Us is a line we have often used at KPA. Year after year, we are so proud of our all students and their growth; and teaching is part of this growth. Today we feature another student turned lead instructor! KPA is excited to have Miss Soele return to the studio this year! Hey! Im Miss Soele and Im so excited to get back to the KPA fam and dance again! Ill be teaching Hip Hop and Tap and look forward to seeing all my returning students and meeting new ones!

Today we highlight a familiar face to the studio: Mr. Taylor. Out of all the years that Mr. Taylor has been dancing, this is the most anticipated year yet! Returning for his sixth season of teaching Pop and Lock at KPA, Taylor is very excited to see all the friendly faces as well as welcoming new ones to the studio. He is eager to see what his students can bring to the dance floor this year as he enjoys watching their growth and progress.

Say hello to Miss Emily! Miss Emily has grown from a student assistant to now leading her own classes at the studio! Hi, Im Emily. This year, I will be teaching Contemporary and Flex Tech classes; I will also be assisting with Jazz and Acro! I cannot wait to get back to dancing and Im so excited to see everyone again!

Thursday nights at KPA are our Ukrainian dance nights. We are so happy to have Miss Kasya return to the studios Teaching Team! Kasyas passion for Ukrainian dance started from the young age of five. Her dance journey has allowed her to travel, make lifelong friends and be a part of a team. Aside from attending university, she is currently a dancer with the Cheremosh Ukrainian Dance Company in Edmonton. This will be her third year as a part of the KPA Teaching Team, she is happy to facilitate further growth of her dancers. Kasya is excited to be returning to instruct the KPA Ukrainian program for another year! She is looking forward to welcoming new and returning dancers.

KPA is very proud to support students as student teaching assistants. Many assisting students have gone on to become lead instructors in a number of genres at the studio. Today we feature one such student - Miss Isabella. Isabella is a KPA student teacher assisting with the studios Ukrainian 1 class. Her favourite dances are Ballet and Ukrainian, but she dances most genres all with determination and passion. She has missed the studio over these past few months and is very excited to return to her KPA family!

Our KPA Teaching Team Highlight Reel continues with a feature of Miss Brianna! Hi, Im Brianna! I have been teaching at KPA for three years but have been at the studio for eleven years. This year I am excited to be teaching Hip Hop. I cant wait to see everyones faces and have our KPA family all together again!

Today we feature Miss Kelly! Hello! Im Miss Kelly and I am so happy to be teaching my favourite styles with such an amazingly talented group of people at KPA. The best part of teaching is allowing kids to express themselves through their passion for dance! Dance is not only a sport, but a beautiful piece of art that allows people to feel confident and creative in the dancer they are. Contemporary is one of my favourite genres of dance and I cant wait to encourage my students to always stay positive and to keep working hard to reach their goals! Just remember, KaRAR is not just a dance studio, we are a family.

KPA is excited to have Miss Caitlyn return to our Teaching Team this year! Miss Caitlyn has been dancing for the past six years and teaching for three. She has spent a lot of time at the studio dancing her favourite genres of Acro, Ukrainian, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Jazz, and Ballet. However, its easily said that she loves every minute spent dancing! Despite all of the challenges this year may bring, she is very excited to learn and overcome barriers, and is looking forward to seeing everyone enjoy dancing in our one big happy KPA family.

Today, we feature Mr. Gabe from our KPA Teaching Team! KaRAR has always been the best place for me to laugh with friends, share in unique experiences, and of course DANCE! Ready to work off the couch-bod, Im so pumped to be returning to the studio, a community I truly consider family! Cant wait to see you guys there!

KPA is excited to welcome Miss Kendra back to the teaching team after a hiatus in Australia. Welcome back Miss Kendra! Hi! My name is Kendra and I am very excited to be teaching Ballet and Tap at KaRAR this year. I look forward to teaching and dancing again, as I was in Australia for five months. I have missed my KPA family very much! My favourite genre of dance is Ballet and so I am overjoyed to share my passion with you all. I hope everyone enjoyed their summer and I look forward to seeing your smiling faces soon!

We would like to welcome Vanessa to the KPA Teaching Team this year!! Vanessa has danced for many years, coming from a multi-genre dance studio at a young age. Now dancing professionally within the Ukrainian community, Vanessa is excited to join the KPA teaching team. This year, she will be instructing Preschool and Level 2 Ukrainian classes Thursday evenings.

KPA Teaching Team Highlight - Mr. Ethan. Ethan has been a KPA instructor for the past three years. His favourite genres of dance have been Hip Hop, Pop and Lock, Ukrainian and Contemporary. This year, Ethan will once again be instructing Pop and Lock. He is looking forward to all his returning students as well as welcoming new faces into the studio!

I just wanted you all to know that Ive missed you so so so SO much and I cant wait to dance with you all again soon! If theres one thing I know, its that the KPA family knows how to take care of one another and we will welcome this upcoming year full of new and exciting adventures with open arms and hearts! Get your dancing feet ready, I cant wait to see you!

Over the next few weeks, we will be highlighting our 2020 - 2021 teaching team! To start the highlight reel, we begin with none other than Ms. Nat! Natalies creative and artistic talents have built the foundation and backbone to our entire KPA family. She (like so many of our teaching team members) is excited to open the studio doors next month. In her own words, she would like everyone to know that: after almost six months of no students, no dance, no rehearsals, no c...reative community, I can honestly say Ive never looked forward to September more! Ive missed my KPA fam with my whole dang beating heart, and I am RIDICULOUSLY PUMPED to see you all again...to move, share, and to create together again. This year might bring some challenges, but with challenges comes GROWTH. This is supposed to be my bio, but I guess Im rebellious and its my microphone instead so ... WOOOT! ... see you all SOOOOOON!
