In light of the recent situation, Covid 19 pandemic, my assistants and I work from home. However, this has not negatively impacted the quality of my representation. Yes, courts are closed and so are immigration tribunals. However, this time is not only an opportunity to reflect, but also to concentrate on thorough preparation of legal cases for future filing with governmental officials and courts. Our immigration department continues its work online and we are in connection w...ith them. As essential business, I meet with clients, but implement physical distancing measures. I also meet with clients only for necessary things like signing applications, affidavits and other documents. So, my existing clients and future ones, can be assured that this time might be the best one to open a new application, continue preparing for a hearing or assess your future matter in a relaxed, non rushed atmosphere. Talk to me, call or email me with your questions. I and my staff are here for you. See more

It is likely than not that all courts including immigration tribunals will be closed starting tomorrow, however my office will not stop working on cases, new and old. We invite clients to communicate with us via the Internet and phone. We will conduct personal interviews over the Skype, Whats App, email and regular phone. Stay safe.

Some applicants for immigration to Canada are under the impression that our laws are so simple that they can be interpreted by everyone and thus, everyone is able to provide proper guidance and legal advice. It is a mistake. It is true that the applicants can prepare and submit their cases by themselves; it is not mandatory to hire an immigration lawyer/consultant/counsel. However, if you don't want a refusal from our governmental officials due to your errors on the application, you are advised to hire a professional to be at your side. www.karblaw.com

Since the parent/grandparent sponsorship program will be opening soon, it is advisable to be prepared in advance because the opportunity window to submit your interest could be limited to 15 or so minutes only (as it was the last year). Therefore, Canadian sponsors are encouraged to prepare this information and documents and hire us with no delay: 1. Your legal name as it appears on your identity document, whether it is your permanent residence card or Canadian passport; 2. Y...our date and place of birth; 3. Your primary residential address. Please note that you have to provide proof of your address later; 4. Your email address; 5. The family size (your immediate family members including: you, your spouse, common-law partner, and all dependent children aged 25 and younger (please note that if your children are 18 years of age and over, they are considered to be your dependents only if they study full time at college/universities since the age of 18); 6. Your parents/grandparents information (only those whom you intend to sponsor) and their dependents (the initial information needed is their legal names and birth days); 7. Proof of your immigration status in Canada (permanent residence card or Canadian passport); 8. Information related to your income. You have to check whether or not your income is enough to be a sponsor for your parents/grandparents. There is a table for minimum income required for sponsoring your parents/ grandparents and you should keep in mind that you have to have that minimum income for the 3 taxation years right before applying to sponsor. It was exciting to be notified by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Board that they are launching a new electronic system, "My case", for counsel representing their clients at that board. Our firm has already registered and we will be soon monitoring our cases from the comfort of the office, and not calling to a registrar. Lots of time will be saved and the clients will be served in a more efficient way that it was before the introduction of this system.
