Congratulations Rev. Jeff Seaton and Rev. Cindy Corrigan on their ordination to the priesthood this afternoon. So pleased to be part of the online congregation praying and standing up with you. Also pleased to play a small role in person as Jeff was wearing a chasuble he commissioned from me this spring and Cindy was wearing a stole made by me, though it is hidden under her chasuble. Blessings, all.

Some new brightness for Pentecost from Karen's studio - a stole commissioned for Rev. Debbie Saxe named by punctuation: a comma which also means '...still creating'. As I reflected on the comments given to me for this design, the images were many of God still speakingcreative divine energylove, truth and justice continuing to be spoken into the worldcreating and recreating through flameone thing becoming anotherhot refining firethe fires of creative flame and re-birth...cosmos-like Then at the very end, a tiny sentence that shouted out at me: ‘The comma could even be created in negative space'. I knew instantly that there was no way the comma that is God could symbolically exist separately or be negative, or without interplay with the flame of creation/re-creation. I knew that the comma must be a part of the lines and energy, the object around which the design centered. The energy of the comma which swirls down to the right, then off to the left is matched in a cosmos-like swirl upward and off to the right. The flames of colour come together in a twist of energy that has interplay with the comma - God speaking - deepest at the tightest twist, and on the upper right released in a burst of brightness and opening, where re-birth is forever and always taking place. The shiny red flames add to the brightness. Which brings me to the comma. I associate white with the wide-open, inclusive, creative energy force that is God, rather than a colour or black. It is a raw, large-weave, off-white silk that says to me God is still speaking because it is raw and less refined. The lower left tail of the comma is left unfinished. Amen!
