As Holocaust Education week is approaching, I am sharing a movie about my husband and late father-in-law's return to Bergen Belsen Concentration Camp on the 20th anniversary of liberation. The movie is worth watching beyond my family connection to it. It is very artistically done and has a powerful message about the banality of evil. As a lawyer, I am expected to promote diversity and inclusiveness. There is no story more powerful than the Holocaust that speaks to the evil and human stupidity of racism. Beyond the horror and trauma done to the victims of racism, it is equally destructive to the perpetrators. These perpetrators will pay the price of mental illness and spiritual unrest unless they come to terms with what they did. The Holocaust must be remembered and not denied for the good of all humankind.
