Lockdown restrictions and working from home pushes more and more Ontarians to look into living in suburban or rural areas, citing desire for bigger homes and more outdoor space. Around 1/3 of adults active in Ontario’s Real Estate say that the pandemic has changed what they want in their next home. According to the Ontario Residential Real Estate Monitor’s July report, a collaboration between the Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA) and Nonos Research, a survey of 1,005 Ontarian adults active in the Real Estate market between June 26th - 30th 2020 revealed that, of those who said that their wants have changed, 30% wants a bigger home with more space and 19% said they wanted access to more out door space.
