Looks like the last day of glorious sun for a while I’m steeping up a batch of Pink Grapefruit in my Glass Ice tea maker for an after work cocktail! The Glass ice tea jug is my favourite way to quickly steep a batch of tea! Add 1-2 Tbsp per liter of water that you’ll be making. Add tea to a minimal amount of hot water, steep, sweeten if desired and then top with remaining cold water and ice! A jug takes 5 minutes with a hot steep and you are ready to enjoy! Cherry Blossom Spring has arrived and yesterday I saw the most gorgeous cherry blossom trees lining the street I was walking down! When I think of spring I think of the fresh green teas that are being harvested , full of antioxidants and life and beautiful blossoms that will later turn to fruit. ... Peach Paradise Just making a big jug for the kids for after school and going to try it as a cold steep! Some flavours can be lost with steeping hot, while others can be enhanced so just playing around with it to find my fav! For anyone that hasn’t met me at the many markets over the years or popped into the shop, let me introduce myself.....this is me (Karla) dreamer and creator of Karla’s Specialteas Just a tiny little bit about myself~ I have loved tea as far back as I can remember and specifically loose teas since my first cup in about 1997 ( it was called Timbuktu, it was AMAZING and I have yet to perfect recreating it!)... I’m a tea lover and a certified Tea Sommelier, I have a passion for herbalism and am also a Registered Aromatherapist. Healing and helping people are so very important to me, whether it be through herbs or teas, my knowledge on alternative health and wellness, connecting or offering comfort, I truly love helping. I’m a mushroom picker and love wildcraft foraging. I’m a mother of 2 boys, a dog named Willow and the cutest cat ever (Astro). I love camping and road tripping just as much as I love a good potluck. I LOVE traveling and experiencing different cultures, food and meeting new people. I’m a talker (I really get the best recipes from random strangers in the grocery store...before Covid). I garden and love to explore in nature, I can name almost every plant I come across and my herb and spice identification is pretty darn on point! I love my friends dearly and will drop everything for a last minute adventure together or just a cup of tea in the garden. Thank you all for following along and for all of your support!
