Pet Photos with Santa Update! I have been working hard on editing all of your pet's adorable photos! I'm in the process of uploading the images into a gallery to be sent out to the email addresses you provided when registering. This process is a little lengthy due to the number of pet photos! But that's a good thing! It means that so many of you came out to support the Oromocto and Area SPCA at Scott's Nursery! Happy 11th Birthday, Sampson! My Best Friend had his birthday on October 31st! To celebrate, we enjoyed a hike with our friends, a trip to the pet store where he was allowed to pick out anything he showed interest in. The ladies at the store told him how handsome he is and gave him lots of treats. When I told them it was his birthday, they brought him out his very own birthday bandana! We also enjoyed a lot of snuggles and playtime, of course! ... I consider myself so lucky to have shared all this time with Sampson, and each day, this dude and his goofy ways make me smile. Our days begin and end with each other. <3

Samson and those big German Shepherd ears heard me say the "T" word. I asked this handsome boy if he wanted a t-r-e-a-t and his head tilt says, "Yes, please!" The dog's that I photograph are all positively reinforced for their modeling skills! Happy dogs make for happy portraits!

I love how much Andrea Beth loves her dog Zedd. <3 These two are such a bonded pair, it's not hard to see just how much they love one another. Andrea wants to remember and cherish their relationship. Together, we re-recreated some moments that define their love. ... They shared some fine dining, such as garlic bread, wine, and cheese. Enjoyed some bedtime snuggles, office time while she edits photos, and movie night, complete with popcorn silliness! This in-home session was beyond delightful. Andrea is a fellow Dog Tog, NBCCD Alumni, and most obviously, a dog lover. And she gets BONUS points for fixing me up a take-home dish of her amazing pasta sauce with some fresh parmesan cheese.

I have an idea. This idea has been brewin' in my noggin' for a while now and I'm excited to finally share it with you! I'll be exploring trails in and around the city and taking Sampson and the camera along with me! With each new trail, I'll be showing and telling you what you and your dog can expect on my Blog! Looking ahead at 2021 with courage, inspired by the laser focus of Storm, the German Shepherd. 2020 was rough, we all faced our struggles. But there were triumphs, too! Celebrate those wins and share what you're grateful for! The lil blessings I'm reminding myself of from 2020 are:... Setting up my Home Studio to do indoor photography. Game changer! Our family gained 3 new members, baby Nico and the kittens Leonard & Wallace! Met so many amazing dogs & their people through photography & design work. I reached out for help with mental illness. Learned new editing & illustrating techniques. Celebrated 5 years with my partner, Jesse. Made a new HUMAN friend! <3 Learned to love myself a little bit more.

When adopting a pet, especially a kitten, you imagine them being a part of your home and family for the next 15 years or so. But life doesn't always work out as planned. Wallace's heart might not be able to give him the years we expect. All we can do is try to jam-pack his life with as much love and fun as possible. Tomorrow is not a promise, so treasure today. Today we got some news from the vet about our little guy, Wallace, that leaves the future a little uncertain. When Wallace + Leonard went in to be neutered this morning, only Leonard could have his surgery performed. The vet suspected Wallace had a heart murmur, but the first time he listened he was unsure because Lil' Walnut has a pretty loud purr. After he settled, the vet was able to confirm that he does have a Grade V heart murmur. While we don't know what is in store ...for Walnut, the one thing we can ensure is that he will be the happiest Walnut. He'll hopefully get to carry on living his life of love, treats and friendship with us and the rest of the pets. Love you, Walnut. Thank you to Dr. Barry at Douglas Animal Hospital and the Vet Techs who looked after them. <3
