Covid-19’s impact on Small Business Anyone in a more traditional occupation might not realize how precarious life in small business and artistic professions may be. As most businesses locally take appropriate measures of isolation and social distancing, small businesses, self-employed individuals and freelancers are losing their sole means of income and do not qualify for most, if any, financial support benefits that are currently being offered by the Federal Government. Cus...tom printing is a foundation of our income. A significant portion of our custom printing work is for eventswith so many gatherings being canceled, this will have serious consequences for us. Most small print shops experience a massive slow down period during the winter season. Typically, this time of year is when most events start to ramp up. Most of us count on the busy months of Spring and Summer to get us through the drought of the year, we’re all going to be hit hard by service and event industry slowdowns. We know January and February are slow, which we plan for. We schedule accordingly. This is the month when we make it over the winter downturn and our season kicks off, but everything is uncertain, on pause. The timing couldn’t be worse, and we’re out of options. We’re reaching out to you, our network, for ideas. Do you have odd jobs that you think we might be a good fit for? Let us know. And for everyone else facing similar uncertainties, we see you, you’re not alone, we’re gonna figure this out somehow, it’s gonna get worse before it gets better, we probably won’t come through it unscathed, but we’re gonna figure something out.
