Hello! We've recently started working on an artist database and want to make sure you are included. Please share this email with any locals you think might be a fit! NKLT and The Nelson & District Arts Council (NDAC) often get asked by community members and organizations for local artist contact information. Both organizations receive information about performance opportunites, grant funding, career development workshops, promotional opportunities, and much more. As a result,... we want to help the local arts community to connect with those opportunities! We are starting a local database that NKLT/NDAC will reference so they can give their inquiries some options for local artists. This is a FREE database to register for. We will never sell or share any personal information with a third party. This database will be used to gather artist-related information and to create opportunities for artists and presenters. To show support and to be part of the tourism network, we ask that Artists please create a link on their website to nelsonkootenaylake.com or tag NKLT in a few social media posts. This cross promotion helps inform visitors of all there is to experience across the region. NKLT will also add registered Artists to their website as a business listing to increase their reach. Register by April 30th! We will remind members around the same time next year to renew their Artist listing so we can make sure the database remains up to date with active local artists. Feel free to send this to any artists that live in Nelson or around Kootenay Lake that you think could benefit from this program! SIGN UP HERE: https://forms.gle/i7y1mkL5LCrAoraf9 We're looking forward to supporting local Artists this year and in years to come. If you have any questions about this program, please don't hesitate to ask.

Hello Everyone, These certainly are challenging times and all of us are required to make many adjustments in our everyday lives. While we had many exciting events planned to kick off our holiday season and to encourage and support our local businesses, we must follow the recent Provincial Health Order handed down by Dr. Bonnie Henry on November 19th. We are postponing Light Up 2020! And Caught in the Act! until it is safe and wise to reschedule. Please do treat each other w...ith kindness and respect. For those who are not happy with the mandatory mask policy, please do not take out your frustrations on the store owners and staff who are putting their health at risk to stay open for you. If you are unable or unwilling to wear a mask in public places, please have someone do your shopping for you or wait until such time as the order has been lifted. We are in this together. We are better together. We are stronger, together.
