Three different friends, 2 based in Nelson, one here in Kaslo phoned me within 10 minutes of one another yesterday to ask if I was listening to CBC Vancouver, who'd picked up this story and were discussing it. Their calls came as I was steaming across the lake on the good ol' Osprey 2000 to a meeting with the folks at Yasodhara Ashram just outside Crawford Bay to discuss wait for it a strategy to make it possible for folks doing wildly creative, high bandwidth-dependent ..."21st century" work while blending into the astonishingly mellow scene we enjoy in this general neck of the woods, to come on out and join us. A strategy that has us referring to the stretch from Kaslo to Nelson, from Riondell to Creston, as "the Creative Kootenay Corridor." Creativity + Wellness (everything from our spectacular physical setting & its benefits to yoga on the beach) + Technology = Alpine Nirvana. That'd be us!
