Hit the trail this weekend with today’s Fuelling Athlete and Coaching Excellence (FACE) Friday athlete, Cross Country Skiing competitor Xavier McKeever. Both o...f Xavier’s parents were Olympians in the sport and his uncle, Para Nordic skier Brian McKeever, is Canada’s most decorated Winter Paralympian - so Xavier has some great expectations to live up to. But he’s up to the challenge. Last year in Germany, he cracked the top 20 in the 10K event and was the youngest member of the silver medal winning men’s four-by-five relay team, bringing home Canada’s first ever medal at the world junior ski championships. Earlier this month, he represented Canada again at the world junior championships in Finland. Xavier hopes to follow in his parents’ footsteps and compete at the Olympic Games - his dream is to win Canada’s first ever Olympic medal in Men's Cross Country Skiing. We’ll be cheering for you all the way, Xavier! See more
