I just want everyone to know that your home is beautiful. It’s a place that you spent time with your family and friends making all sorts of memories. Although it is nice to have the newest and most updated styles and decor, it doesn’t necessarily mean that your home is less valuable than others if you don’t have these things. A well maintained home that’s been loved and cared for is what sells. People will walk in and know that it’s a good place to be then make it their own.... Here is a list of things you can do to maintain the value of your home without renovations or spending a whole lot of money. Stop smoking inside. People are extremely sensitive to smell when they walk into your home during showings. If your home has a strong odour problem such as cigarettes it maybe be the reason you’re getting offers under asking or no showings. Maintain your pets health and lifestyle. We all love and adore our pets and want them to enjoy the space we live in as much as we do. If you have pets in your home make sure they are groomed and bathed regularly. I say this because it can reduce odour, scratches on the new hardwood floors, and overall make your home more enjoyable for both you and your fur babies. Keep your yard simple. You don’t need much to give your property some curb appeal. If maintaining grass, trees, flowers etc. is too much for you then try to gradually remove them. It’s better to have a clean and organized yard than a bunch of lifeless greenery. Keeping up with your home can be a lot and sometimes feel like a second job. Just remember that less is more and you don’t need new to add value.
