This was taken in studio on one of the last days I could be in the studio before the current lockdown. It was a weeknight after school when it was getting dark so early. But with studio sessions, the time of day or the weather doesn't matter. The results will be the same. Studio sessions allow for consistent results and there is no need to rebook your session if the weather is bad. This is one of the reasons I love working with families in studio. ... And I will say that last year, with COVID19 making things uncertain and people avoiding indoor spaces as much as possible, I made a few exceptions to do outdoor sessions. I have had to rebook at least 50% of the time due to weather, which is just extra work for families.

Got into the studio to work on some creative portraits last week, just before the lockdown came into effect. I won't be able to shoot clients in studio now until 2021 and that is okay. Having a few conversations with the kids about starting new things lately. School is coming back in one form or another in a few weeks. Not quite knowing what it will look like is making us a bit nervous, but we have also decided we are excited too. Acknowledging we can be both of those things at the same time.
