HEY!!!! Guess what I got in the mail??? I'm ready to teach!!!!

We are now into our 10th week of social isolation. During this time we’ve seen an explosion of all types of Zumba classes and jams conducted virtually from all... over the world. At first it was exciting and a little overwhelming to be able to take classes from instructors or ZES’ we’d probably never get the chance to dance with live. ZHO provided a free ZINCON experience which was especially appreciated from people like myself who would probably never go to a live convention for various reasons. For many, money is the issue. I am fortunate that I'm not in that position and I have chosen to take classes rather than conduct them. However, because of the current world situation, many full time instructors have been financially impacted and there is virtually nothing coming in. Dues, bills and taxes still need to be paid. Zoom and other meeting platforms have provided an avenue to enable instructors around the world to conduct classes from home and get paid for it. No question, that’s a good thing! However, in the interest of keeping it local, I would prefer to pay instructors in my community rather than a world away, however good and talented they may be. Our own instructors are equally good and talented! I’m pretty sure that some instructors are capitalizing on this advantage and are making far more daily income now than they did two months ago. Shouldn’t we support our own? Shouldn’t we keep our dollars in our own community? We are being told to shop local and help keep Canadians in business. This is how we help each other, not by spending our dollars internationally. This has been bothering me a lot and I just had to put it out there.

Who would like to join my Live Zumba stream classes?

Here is a tip for participating in livestream classes (I learned from taking classes myself) 1. WEAR GYM CLOTHES-this will help your mind prepare itself for what you're about to do. I found if I wear my PJs I feel lazy and I am more likely to leave the class after only 20mins! 2. WEAR SHOES-again is about preparing your mind for what you're about to do and to protect your knees and feeling cramps on your calves and most importantly feeling comfortable and able to do the wh...ole class (remember it's only 4% of your day take advantage of it) 3. DRINK WATER-Just because you're at home DON'T FORGET TO HYDRATE! 4. REMOVE ALL DISTRACTION OR MAKE THEM JOIN YOU-When my girls are in the kitchen talking, it distracts me so much and it really ruins my mood. This is the reason I make them join me, so I can concentrate! :) 5. HAVE FUN AND FORGET ABOUT WHAT'S HAPPENING AROUND US...JUST FOR THAT 1hr! See more
