Day62 #100dayproject #dumfriesconservationarea area in Cambridge Ontario, starting to get a little more life in the scenery, better to paint it now before it gets ALL green! Best seasons for me in Ontario are probably Spring and Fall although I did enjoy a few winter scenes this year!

I started the project with the intention of working on quick mixed media explorations for 100 days. I ended up working on mostly finished pieces while experimenting with media which is fine but kept me a lot more busy than I thought. Still enjoying the process so it's all good! Another Exercise from 31 day art recharge. This one is based on Childe Hassan, Urban Impressionism How can you represent your town or your city in a particular weather, season, time of day? This painting is of Church Street in Georgetown Ontario right by the Helson gallery. It was a cold sunny day after a snowstorm, the sun was so strong that despite the cold the snow was beginning to melt. I could have chosen a pretty little scene but when I looked up this street, I thought this is what winter in Canada is often really like. It’s not always the perfect Christmas card scene. Walking through wet snow and slush is often a reality. I tried to depict the feeling of an ordinary day of a long winter season.
