Calling on support for our beloved Arnis instructor Datu Shishir's family who has suffered a tragic loss recently. If you can please donate any amount you can spare. "We are raising money to provide justice for Betty Inocalla's murder. 50% of these funds will go towards building a stronger defense unit to prevent similar brutal killings.... The remaining 50% of funds will be used to continue Betty's legacy. Some projects she worked on included: - Creating a self-sufficient healing centre including agriculture development and housing for the existing community left behind. - Continuing the development of education by building a secondary school in order to lift the community out of poverty, thus working towards eliminating gun violence and gang-related activity." https://www.facebook.com/donate/873922779816446/10158802541460056/

Our partners at Center for Babaylan Studies are creating a matching fund of up to $1,500 if this GoFundMe campaign meets their goal of $4,000 to support the salaries of 3 teachers at the Lasiwwai Learning Institute, Tboli Community as well as Agusan-Manobo working students who are saving up for computers to be able to do online schooling in light of the ongoing pandemic. They are also raising funds for their living expenses. Please support if you can! "Indigenous students and... teachers in the Philippines are fighting for their education. As global forces of imperialism, historic colonialism, capitalism, and environmental destruction continue to undermine their livelihoods, indigenous peoples throughout the archipelago known as the Philippines continue to protect their lands, cultures, and traditional ways of life. Two indigenous communities are requesting support to provide direct aid to their teachers and students, aid which contributes to their sovereignty and self-determination." https://www.gofundme.com/f/stand-with-indigenous-students-a?
