Thank you to everyone that supported my painting practice and schooling over the years! <3 My thesis exhibition is up at the FAB gallery in Edmonton Alberta for the month of October. If you're nearby you can book an appointment with the art gallery to check it out. I am in the process of seeing if I can have a video taken of my art on display to share it with you online. It's coming soon! Stay safe and enjoy this upcoming Thanksgiving weekend!

Happy Birthday Robert Bateman! Participating in your Get To Know art contest and meeting you in person really inspired me. You sang me a poem once when we were talking about one of my pastel drawings, "Sedges have edges. Rushes are round. Grasses are hollow. What have you found?" Put a smile on my face. I am so happy to be inspired by such a creative environmental leader. I wanted to share your video so more people can get inspired.

I can't believe this video is 10 years old. Hope everyone gets outdoors this summer. Look for wildlife! It feels like summer where I am today. Enjoy your weekend <3

I wanted to update you about the work I am currently doing for my masters program. For my thesis exhibition, my painting series will look a little different. For the first time, I am carving out the surface of my wood backings I am painting on. In this photo, you can see some of the textures I've drawn out around the animals. Each wood backing has a different carved out style and design. This board below is still a ways away from completion. Today I am carving around the anim...als to get rid of the outlines. I plan to gesso and paint over my carved boards. For those of you who have seen my paintings up close, I naturally paint very thin and smooth. This painting series will have lots of textures and hidden scenes under the painted surface I am creating above. More details and photos will come when I get closer to my art show this fall. Hope everyone stays safe and healthy! See more
