Unsere Initiative Johannes-Passion im Netz die am Karfreitag 2020 zum Livestream einer in...novativen Fassung von Bachs Johannes-Passion in die Thomaskirche Leipzig einlud wurde heute mit dem Leipziger Tourismuspreis 2020 in der Kategorie Unternehmen/Institutionen gewürdigt. Diesen Ehrenpreis schreibt die Leipzig Tourismus und Marketing GmbH Leipzig Travel seit 2002 jährlich aus. Bachfest-Intendant Prof. Dr. Maul nahm den Preis für die von ihm gestartete Initiative entgegen. Volkmar Müller, Geschäftsführer der Leipziger Gruppe, würdigte die Initiative in seiner Laudatio: Die Resonanz [...] war überwältigend. Laut Kritikern schrieb das Konzert Mediengeschichte und war one of the most important performances of the 21st century Our St John Passion in the world wide web initiative, which on Good Friday 2020 invited to Leipzig St. Thomas Church with a live stream of an innovative version of Bach’s St John Passion, was awarded the 2020 Leipzig Tourism Award in the category for institutions. Since 2002, the Leipzig Tourismus and Marketing GmbH has been offering this honorary award annually. Bachfest Artistic Manager Prof. Dr. Michael Maul accepted the award for the initiative that he had started. Volkmar Müller, managing director of Leipziger Gruppe, said in his laudatory speech: ... Alongside their many successful performances of Bach’s major works, the choir has sung works from the Baroque, Renaissance, Romantic and Contemporary periods.
