Joining me this week on Let's Get Writing is Marnie Parsons, publisher and owner of Running the Goat Books & Broadsides, a micro-press located in Tors Cove, Newfoundland. They publish children's literature of exceptional quality as well as a line of letterpress-printed books, chapbooks, broadsides, and poemphlets. Its publications celebrate the life and culture of Newfoundland and Labrador, and Atlantic Canada. Says Marnie, I have worked in libraries and bookstores, have st...udied, taught and reviewed literature, and continue to edit it, as well as print it. At almost every stage of my life, my work has grown out of a love of, and delight in, books and language. It is my great hope that Running the Goat’s publications are further expressions of that love and delight. I am looking forward to learning more about Marnie, her love of books and her unique publishing house.

Welcome to Let’s Get Writing. Let’s Get Writing is all about the writing process from creation to publication. Here is where you can find inspiration, ideas and meet the people behind the stories. We bring life to books! Join me as I welcome Mary Jane Copps to the show. An accomplished author, speaker and facilitator, Mary Jane is passionate about creating excellent communication. During her career, going as back as far as supporting herself through university, she has always relied on effective conversations to make things happen - as a receptionist, a manager, a journalist, a salesperson, a researcher and an entrepreneur. And now as my guest.

Joining me on Let's Get Writing this week is Mary Jane Copps. Her book, entitled The Phone Book, looks at essential telephone communication skills. When I noted she was leading a workshop for our local business community, I was intrigued to learn more. I think you'll enjoy what she has to share as an accomplished author, speaker and facilitator who is passionate about creating excellent communication. I'm certainly open to hearing what she has to say in her book and why she wrote it. #kathryntaylor #maryjanecopps #thephonelady #kathryntaylortv #phonecommunications

I’m in stitches already and looking forward to a fun chat with Christine LeGrow and Shirley A. Scott (Shirl the Purl) this Wednesday, March 31 at 1:00 pm NDT. It’s been a few years since our first interview and these ladies continue to create patterns and spin yarns (tales) about the history of Newfoundland through their knitted cultural treasures. #kathryntaylor #letsgetwriting #kathryntaylormedia #saltwatermittens #christinelegrow #shirleyascott #boulderbooks

I hope you enjoy this interview from the Let's Get Writing archives. Jessica Mitton recently won the gold medal in the Reader Views Literary Awards in the Crafts & Hobbies/Cooking/How-To category for her book Some Good Sweet Treats. I really enjoyed the opportunity to talk with her last September about her passion for healthy treats and good food. Congratulations also to Barry C. Parsons for his win of the silver medal for his cookbook Rock Recipes 3. I'm working on a series that will feature a number of great locally produced cookbooks so stay tuned. In the meantime, enjoy Jessica's interview.
