Fears & Phobias A form of anxiety disorder displaying intense and irrational fears of an object or situation that poses no real threat. It can be anything that causes an individual to experience feelings of intense fear. Examples of Fear vs Phobia Fear- Feeling a bit uneasy at the sight of a spider. Phobia- Not going outside because you might see a spider.... Fear- Uneasy feeling while riding the elevator. Phobia- Taking the stairs to avoid the elevator. Fear- Feeling butterflies when up high such as on a ladder. Phobia- Turning down a job opportunity because it is on the 6th floor of a building.
