Just added a memento style to our memorial urn offerings. The top opens for access to a compartment in which one can store memorabilia. The one just finished is made from Black Walnut with inlaid accents of Roasted Curly Maple and Bird's Eye Maple. There's another in progress made from Cherry with inlaid accents of Bubinga and Lacewood. Recently finished three large jewelry boxes that have one drawer and removable trays. This one is my favourite (it's sold!). The burl is from a batch of silver maple burls that city workers were kind enough to recover for us from a tree taken down in a nearby park. I've had these burls tucked away for nearly 15 years. Finally got around to re-sawing them into useable pieces. AWESOME! Recently, we had the honour of making a custom memorial companion urn and keepsake boxes from highly figured aromatic cedar. The top of the urn was made by bookmarking a unique piece, resulting in a knot in the centre that formed a heart which was surrounded by an aura.
