Another tequila sunrise
Pretty, young filly She’s a pretty, young filly a rarin’ to go, runnin’ the corral in the new fallen snow. Her tiny hooves poundin’ the ground, ... are causin’ the powder to swirl around. She’s a kickin’ and jumpin’ without skipin’ a beat, I wonder how this youngster stays on her feet. The sun peakin’ through the clouds in the sky makes her pretty red coat glisten in my eye. Rearin’ up, she turns and gallops back to her mom, what could’ve frightened her, oh just the ol’ Tom. She pulls up to her mom who’s won a few races, has a snack, a short nap, then it’s back to her paces. I dare not get too attached, for when weaned she’ll be sold, and trained up to run races until she’s too old. For now I’ll enjoy my time in the snow just standin’ here watchin’ this young lady grow. c Kathy Forness November 21, 2018. 3am. Painting February 2021 by Kathy
A little watercolor to calm the mind.
