I think this moth looks exactly like a Husky's face!! It was on it's back, inside the entryway of our building. I very nearly crunched it with my shoe. That would have been a huge mess, because it's body was literally the size of my thumb. Juicy! I moved it outside with a stick. I wanted to take a photo in my hand for scale, but didn't want to hurt it's delicate wings. ... As a little girl, I was super fascinated with volcanoes. This special interest leaked into my subconscious - I had many recurring dreams (nightmares) throughout my teen years, in which I was trying to escape from an erupting volcano in some capacity. Consult the dream dictionaries; it was a wild time! I haven't had one of those dreams in years. But. The recent anniversary of the Mt. St. Helens eruption inspired me to dig up this old photo of the Garibaldi Ranges. I believe i...t was taken on a very old Sony Cybershot! I manged to breathe a bit more life into this jpeg. No easy feat, as most photographers know. I'm lost without the raw data. Pretty happy with how it turned out. Celebrating Mother's Day 2020. All of you are all literal, actual superheroes. Raising the next generation, through the thick and the thin. Keeping your head up, even when it is so, so hard. When your eyelids want to close, when you think you cannot possibly get up for another feed. When the PAC meetings are just too much. The school lunches are never ending. Or nowadays - the new virtual meets are taking everything out of you. The sacrifices you make, and the rewards you rec...eive - you are doing an outstanding job. . I also must honor all of the people who struggle on this day, for a variety of reasons. Bereaved. Miscarriages. Stillbirths. Toxic relationships. Abuse. Infertility. Step-mothers. Foster mothers. In-Laws. And all of the other circumstances. Motherhood and it's related roles are so, so taxing. . I see you, I feel you, and your feelings and reasons are valid. You are superheroes, too! . It's always a double-edged sword; we can remain positive 100% of the time. But this day is not positive for 100% of people, and that is OKAY!
