Private clinics including massage therapists were allowed to return to work in central and western NL with the move to Alert Level 4 on February 27. Calls, messages and/or emails have gone out to all clients with cancelled appointments during the lockdown. There are still a few appointments that remain to be rescheduled. I am sharing my time between Bodyworks, Baie Verte and my own practice in Pasadena. During March I will be in BV the 8, 9, 17, 18, 19, 22, 23 and 31. Pasad...ena on the 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 25, 26, 27, 29 and 30. I recommend booking in advance as appointments fill quickly! Please reach out anytime with questions or help booking!

Day 7 of lockdown. How are you all doing? With only essential services allowed to operate. I’m not working right now. I’ve been making the most out of the downtime snowshoeing, home workouts with Whelan’s Wellness and working on an online orthopaedic cervical spine (neck) course. I’m excited when I get back to work to have a better understanding of thoracic outlet syndrome, whiplash and other conditions affecting the neck and new techniques to add!

On Friday, February 12, Dr. Janice Fitzgerald made an announcement that the province of NL would immediately go into Alert Level 5 for two weeks. This alert level mandates all private clinics including Massage Therapy to close. If you had an appointment between now and February 26, it will be cancelled and you will be contacted to reschedule once it is recommended to continue with RMT treatments. I made a new playlist for work TOMORROW!!! My selections are always a combination of acoustic, covers and singer/songwriter. My time in fort McMurray gave me the opportunity to work with several other RMTs each with a unique approach to treatment and trained all across Canada with different continuing education courses and experiences. I was intrigued by the work of one of my coworkers. Being trained in hot stone therapy, she integrated stones and massage by using a couple of stones as a heat source where needed. I liked her method and was motivated to learn more about the combination of stones and massage. My time in isolation is providing the perfect time to research, study, and work on a course in Hot and Cold Stone Certification.
