Other things may change us, but we start and end with the family - Anthony Brandt I feel lucky to witness these moments between mother and daughter on the days when two families join, staying the same and yet beginning anew! #katiesandersonphotography #motheranddaughter #familymoments #torontowedding #weddingphotographer #torontoweddingphotographer #thewestinharbourcastle #centreislandwedding #torontoisland #centrevillewedding #raisaleeandzachary

WHO, WHO wants some random great horned owl facts? thought so! A recent experience in collingwood, listening to two owls calling to eachother on a cold, crisp, clear night got me thinking of this photo. Fact #1. According to allaboutbirds.org, the female Great Horned Owl is larger than her mate, but the male has a larger voice box and a deeper voice. Pairs often call together, with audible differences in pitch. (This is exactly what we heard that night... eerie, yet calm an...d beautiful!) Fact #2. A group of owls has many collective nouns, including a "bazaar", a "glaring", a "parliament", a "stooping", and a "#wisdom" of owls. (I like the last one) Fact #3. When clenched, a Great Horned Owl’s strong talons require a force of 28 pounds to open. The owls use this deadly grip to sever the spine of large prey. (Ouch!) #owl #greathornedowl #bubovirginianus #owlwisdom #wiseoldowl #yelloweyes #birdphotography #burlingtonphotographer #wildlifephotographer #katiesandersonphotography #ilovenature #birdsofnorthamerica #birdsofcanada #birdsofprey #hooting #owlcalls See more
