Yoga at the cottage?! Why not! Yoga is a safe, social distanced exercise that you can do anywhere - whether it is from your living room or on the deck, roll out your mat, root down and rise up. Here, in the Kawartha Lakes, I led two friends on the deck and two others on Zoom.

Find your song, find your vibration. A student gave me this singing bowl from a trip to Mongolia. Each bowl has its own song, just like us. On this sleepy Sunday, I hope you find some quiet and stillness to listen to your song.

I love this journal! My sister sent this to me - it has beautiful illustrations and inspiring writing prompts. Spending time in nature, being quiet and writing are simple ways to reconnect, no matter where you are. The journal is called "Start Where You Are" by Meera Lee Patel... Thank you to Larkin Elizabeth for thinking of me.

The spring equinox brings new beginnings and lightness. How are you bringing lightness into your life? Spring cleaning? Maybe a spring jog? Do you ever notice how children seem to run everywhere! Take this lightness with you and make today a bright, light kind of spring day.

Yoga peace. It travels well and can even fit in your itty bitty yoga pants. Find it inside you, simply activate with your breath. Namaste.

Nature whispered: Take time to be here and see all of the universe, the good and evil, the pleasure and pain. Now, you can come back to your nature and see your true self.

Yoga on the Fort Coulonge river in Quebec. Balancing on the stand up paddle board shifts your focus from the end pose to the movement in between. The space in between - the journey - is often times more important than the destination. The fun part? ... Try the shoulder stand you've been working on. Let your fear of falling go in the breeze. Flipping off the board into the river water is just as fun as holding yourself upside down for a few seconds longer. See more

Let's talk about yoga MATS. I get so many questions about which mat is the best to buy. There are a huge variety of mats available and finding a mat that suits you will be better advice than a top 10 list of yoga mats. Questions to ask yourself when purchasing a yoga mat: 1. Where will you be doing yoga? If you plan to do yoga in your living room, the thickness and weight of the mat will not be as important compared to if you plan to carry your mat or travel to different lo...cations with it. ~At home or driving: pick a thicker matt for support on your knees. Example: *I have the Reversible Big Mat 5mm by Lululemon. It weighs a lot and provides extra cushioning without effecting my balance. B Yoga is known for thicker mats - check out the 6 mm Strong and Long mat. https://byoganow.com/collections/b-mats ~Most often on location or walking: pick a thinner, lighter weighted matt to make it easier to carry. There are some mats that fold up like a towel! Example: Carry Onwards mat by Lululemon https://shop.lululemon.com/c/yoga-mats/_/N-8pj 2. How does your body move? Slippery hands or more often knee pain? There are different materials to consider that may feel better depending on how your body moves. Mats by Manduka are smooth but grippy while mats by Lululemon have one smooth side and one textured side. This is helpful for when you do yoga in hot environments. https://ca.manduka.com/collections/yoga-mats-grp

Sometimes life feels a bit wobbly... Choose joy. Get back up and try again. Maybe even laugh at the wobbly moment. I am wearing my school mascot t-shirt as part of a school movement to be active.
