For the safety of our members, community and friends, and to help limit the spread of COVID-19, the CJCC continues to be temporarily closed until further notice.... This is not just a good idea, but is required by law. As you are undoubtedly aware, a state of emergency was declared in Ontario under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act and limits have been made to non-essential services. Hamilton is now in Stage 3. Still, it may be a while before the Centre is open for programming and events. Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health recommends that people only leave their homes to access health-care services, shop for groceries, pick up medication, walk pets and support vulnerable community members. To the fullest extent possible, you should also limit the number of these essential trips and continue to practice physical distancing. At this unprecedented time, it is our sincere hope that you and your family are keeping well under the extraordinary circumstances. The COVID-19 crisis is difficult financially for everyone. The Centre is no exception. It is, however, a resilient organization and will continue to persevere with support from our community. The Centre, along with the Hamilton Chapter NAJC, has risen to overcome challenges in the past, and will be here to offer the programming and events you expect in the future to support our Japanese Canadian community.

The Board of directors at the Hamilton Canadian Japanese Culture Centre has confirmed that All program activities have been cancelled until April 6 2020. When the Board will re assess the situation with Covid 19. We apologies for this closure however health and safety for all is paramount. All memberships will be extended accordingly.
