Thankfully we are able to continue working through this one with the same restrictions we have had in place. Of course safety is our primary concern right now. Our hearts go out to those who are once again left in a position of questioning if this will be the last hurtle. Or even worse questioning if they will be able to get over this one. Please support our small businesses as much as you can right now. This struggle is real and life changing for so many. Operating a small business is not easy even through good times, so to add on the uncertainty and constant changes being thrown at us through all this is devastating to many. Praying for an end soon, when we can start picking each other up, and work on repairing the damage done. Cause the damage is immense for so many. . Please be there for each other.

Just wanted to share our wonderful Tiffany’s Facebook page with you all. She has been working hard at getting everyone caught back up after the lockdown so go to her page and give her a like. You can also go directly to her page now to book any full grooming (with a hair cut) if needed. Bath and nails only (no trimming) will still be booked through Kaycee’s here allowing Tiffany to use her skills where needed most.

Why do I have to bathe my dog? Good question and the simple answer is.you don’t, however there are a few benefits that go along with regular baths for your pooch. 1. The first and most obvious benefit they smell so fresh after and when done properly that new dog smell should last for quite some time. 2. Regular bathing keeps the fur spiders in your house down to a minimum. The drying process that we use removes anything that isn’t attached so all those lovely clumpy pie...Continue reading

So excited to show you all. Yet another project on the go. In keeping with our Healthy Pets Shop, we are working out some great recipes that we will be making in house with DoTerra Essential Oils so you can be sure the quality is top notch with no extra additives, and because we make them in house it is guaranteed to be fresh. Essential oils when used properly can help our pets out with so many issues. The possibilities are endless.

The next product I would like to introduce you to is our CO2 treatments. We offer this treatment in our shop on a regular basis. It is applied as an extra rinse after a bath to soothe and lessen symptoms from skin ailments. It helps with anything from allergies, to yeast, to dry skin, and the list goes on. The rinse that we do here is applied through a system, but we also have some packages that can be useful for home use. One is a foot bath system that comes with a foot... soak tube and 4 CO2 tablets. This works well for the puppers who spend their days chewing on their feet. You can soak just one foot if they have a preference or you can soak all four if they are travelling chewers. The other package we have is a spray bottle with 4 tablets. The spray is for a general overall itch. After dissolving one tablet in the spray bottle you can use it as an all over rinse. It can be used wet or dry but should be aimed as close to the skin as possible. Each package has enough in it to complete 4 treatments at home. If you would like more information on CO2 we have some more information on our website. Feel free to have a look and let us know if there is anything else we can help with. Obviously we are unable to do treatments in our shop right now but hoping to open up again soon!! http://kaycees.ca/grooming/

Let us introduce you to K9 Kitchen Raw diet. We have always fed our dogs a raw diet. The benefits we have seen firsthand are phenomenal. Our dogs have soft shiny coats, spend less time at the water bowl, have more energy, cleaner teeth, and best of all smaller stool. We have a healthy dog blood check done once a year and it always comes back top notch. I have made my own raw diet in years past and found it to be a lot of work and I was always questioning my ability to ma...intain proper ratios for the health of my babies. Some of the manufactured raw diets I have tried I found the consistency to be weird for lack of a better word, and even though my dogs had eaten raw before they would turn up their noses more frequently with some of the other brands I tried. A couple years ago I came across K9 KITCHEN RAW PET FOOD and haven’t looked back since. It is convenient, looks like real raw food, and my dogs love it. So, after feeding it to my guys, as often happens, I started recommending it to my customers. Like I have said in the past I am not a salesperson yet I can talk about anything I am happily using with ease. When we started planning for the expansion, I naturally decided that the best fit for our healthy dog shop was K9 Kitchen. This diet comes in 2 lb containers and we currently have two recipes, although I have access to all of their other recipes if anyone wants to change it up a bit. Chicken which is an all-chicken blend with veggies and K9 Select with has chicken meat with beef organs and veggies. Both recipes are prepared with the required 80/10/10 ratio and your dogs will absolutely love them. If you have any questions about raw diet in general or K9 Kitchen feel free to send us a message or comment below and we will do our best to help you out. Meanwhile I would like to send out a big huge welcome to K9 Kitchens and thank you for keeping my fur babies healthy! See more

Well, this lockdown has again left me with some time on my hands. Things are a little quiet here at Kaycee’s these days. I have taken this downtime to dive into preparing for the opening of our new addition that is in the works. I have recently focused on the larger area for reception that the addition will provide us with. I am not looking for a typical pet store, but a place where you can come with any questions or concerns you may stumble across in your role as pet parents... that a second set of ears might be able to help with. I have been in the animal care field for a VERY MANY years now and have a few tips and tidbits to pass along. I am planning some ‘clinics’ that will help you with the smaller day to day things that you can do yourself with a lesson or two. (i.e., nail trims, ear care, etc.). As well as some mini classes to help you learn all things dog (i.e., feeding, health and behavioural) I am working hard at gathering info and developing our education leg for you. The other way I have been passing time these days is research. I am not a salesperson and have always found that carrying product that I can stand behind and use for myself comes easy. I dove into what is out there for dogs these days and believe me there are many different products out there. I have decided on the staples for our shop which has developed into more of a holistic stop. The first five staples I have decided on have been available through Kaycee’s for quite a while, but due to lack of space I found it was hard to offer them up to their best potential. If there is anything out there that you have come across that you feel might go well in our new shop, please feel free to pass it along to us and we will have a look for it. Kaycee’s is for you and your pets, so your opinion matters and is appreciated here. Below is an introduction to our initial products. You will find a brief introduction in the comments. We will of course be happy to go into more detail on any or all of them for you and will also be spotlighting them individually on our page. Stay tuned. I am looking forward to offering these products the spotlight they deserve. See more

Hello everyone! First of all I hope you and yours are able to have a Merry Christmas in spite of these weird times. Snuggle up to your fur babies and stay safe. Secondly this pending lockdown has once again landed on our doorstep and we unfortunately have been deemed not essential for grooming, so Ruffs and Tufts will be closed until further notice and we will not be able to book any bath and nail appointments through Kaycee’s. However, boarding is still an essential servi...ce so will continue with some restrictions. Drop off and pick up will be by appointment and remain outside and there will be no personal belongings allowed aside from food and leash. Hopefully, this is the last time we will have to go through this. Fingers crossed for a better 2021. We are ready for the uphill battle that awaits us and will lead us to greener pastures. We are here for any one needing help getting through. We know it has been rough but together we can get there. See more

We are pleased to make the official announcement that Tiffany, who you all have come to love getting your pets beautified by, has branched out and opened her own business called Ruffs and Tufts Professional Grooming. We are even more excited to announce that she will be operating her business out of Kaycee’s so our day to day business here will change very little. Our partnership with Ruffs and Tufts means you can still bring your pets to 11 Burtch Rd to the one and only Ti...ffany for all your full grooming needs. Tiffany will still be operating as she has for quite some time now by appointment which you can book through text or phone to 519-774-0917. You can also send her a message through email at [email protected] or contact her through her Facebook page we have copied below. In the meantime, don’t worry any messages sent to Kaycee’s will find their way to Tiffany making the transition smooth and easy. Just a quick note that all bath and nails with no fur trimming involved will still go through our technicians at Kaycee’s Kritters to help Tiffany focus on using her skills to better serve our customers. We are so excited for Tiffany’s new path and even more excited to share the journey with her. https://www.facebook.com//Ruffs-and-Tufts-Professional-Gr/

Got a wonderful gift yesterday that was a little bittersweet. Brought tears to my eyes for a couple reasons. It always overwhelms me to tears when I receive gifts or words of appreciation. I love what I do so much that I really don’t see it as anything that needs a thank you. So when I get a thank you it always hits me and warms my heart. Secondly, this wonderful gift brought sadness because it means goodbye to another sweet boy who takes a tiny piece of my heart. I think bac...k to the first time this tiny little floof came to me. Everything was so new and somewhat scarey. He was a bit of a wiggle worm and snugglebum all rolled into one. And he wiggled his way into my heart. I never thought I would have to say bye to him. I have had a few potent goodbyes recently. I have always said I love my job. I like to consider myself a dog Nana/Gramma. I get to spoil and play with them and then send them home with Mom and Dad. I could block my heart and not let them in to avoid the hurt, but I think allowing myself to get attached to them makes me good at what I do. And I doubt I could block them out even if I tried. So I will continue to give away tiny pieces of my heart because if I have learned anything it is the fact that you never run out of heart to give, and the more you give the more it comes back to you. The benefits far outnumber the tears. See more

6 years ago versus today. Still a ways to go but we have come quite far. Both builds were/are excruciatingly slow but we are looking down the line to an even more fantastic place for your pets to come stay and play on the farm while you are away. Thank you for your patience.

Kaycee's Kritters 25.10.2020

We have a building!! And the ducks approve.

Two quiet seniors looking for a loving home to live out their days. They have lived past their owners life who loved them both very much. Let’s find them a home where they can continue to feel the love.

Kaycee's Kritters 30.09.2020

We have a floor!!! . Next week we should have a building. Bit by bit, day by day, we are fighting to get our new addition. Better days ahead in spite of Covid 19.

Wow. Even though it wasn’t a total success, these dogs are GOOD DOGS!!
