This is the last weekend to view our TWO feature artists at the Loft Gallery ( A.J. Ottewell Centre, Broadmoor Blvd., Sherwood Park). PLEASE SHARE On April 14, 2021 we reported a theft in our Edmonton Gallery to the Edmonton Police Service. The break in occurred approximately at 3:10am. Eleven... artworks were stolen (pictured), including nine belonging to artists based in the Northwest Territories who participated in the Crafted NWT exhibition, organized in collaboration the NWT Craft Council and NWT Arts. In addition, damage was done to the infrastructure of the building, and equipment was taken. The Executive Director of the Alberta Craft Council said about this unfortunate event: It has been a challenging year for artists. Following Alberta Health measures, our exhibitions have been closed to the public and our shop continues to operate at a limited capacity, which has negatively impacted our artists for over a year. The Alberta Craft Council will be paying all artists for the work that was stolen, but this is a terrible loss. We at the Alberta Craft Council are heartbroken, and we ask the community for help locating the stolen artwork.
