This #NationalVolunteerWeek the Foundation wishes to acknowledge the outstanding work of the volunteers of the Rossland Health Care Auxiliary. The Rossland Thrift Store is a volunteer run enterprise that generates funds for the priority healthcare needs in our region. The photos displayed are of some of the donations made throughout 2020/2021, during the COVID-19 pandemic. To date, the Rossland Health Care Auxiliary has donated over $1.5 million to the KBRH Health Foundation! These #donationsATwork have provided state of the art medical equipment and patient care and comfort items to KBRH and its associated facilities. We are so grateful for the work of the Rossland Health Care Auxiliary volunteers for their efforts over the years which improve regional healthcare. #Rossland Health Care Auxiliary Thrift Store

It is #NationalVolunteerWeek and the Foundation Team wishes to acknowledge and thank each and every person whose volunteerism is improving our regional healthcare. We are so grateful for all of the volunteers who support our Foundation’s initiatives. We are thankful to our community members who host fundraising events in their businesses and through their networks to support patient care, donors making and providing patient care and comfort items, and the dedicated Auxiliary groups across the Kootenay Boundary who fund priority medical equipment and patient care needs at KBRH and its associated facilities. Last, but not least, we also wish to thank our volunteer Board members who dedicate their time and energy to the work of the Foundation. We could not do this work without you.

Your #donationsATwork provided a new Bariatric Wheelchair for Columbia View Lodge. Margot, a Recreation Therapist, is displaying the wheelchair that was purchased by the Foundation for residents who cannot use a regular sized wheelchair. The wheelchair provides enhanced patient comfort and safety, while increasing their mobility and independence. Thank you for supporting patients in our long term care facilities.

The KBRH Health Foundation is supported by the Government of Canada’s Emergency Community Support Fund (ECSF) and Le Roi Community Foundation. KBRH Health Foundation received $12,000 towards its COVID-19 Greatest Need Fund. This donation will provide necessary medical equipment to enhance isolation capacity to support our most vulnerable patients while admitted to KBRH. Le Roi Community Foundation President, Scott Daniels presented this donation to the KBRH Health Foundation. #Community Foundations of Canada #Employment and Social Development Canada, #ECSFund

Thanks to your #donationsATwork, the Foundation purchased 2 new handheld Dopplers for the ICU / HART department. Robyn, the Manager of the ICU / HART Department is displaying 1 of the handheld Dopplers. This state of the art equipment is used to find a peripheral pulse in patients with vascular disease or trauma. Thank you for supporting the critically ill patients at KBRH.
