This product changed my home coffee routine. The Moka pot also known as an Italian cafeteria, is a stovetop espresso maker. Mine is a 3 shot version pictured above. Fill the bottom chamber, add fine ground beans to the filter basket and heat on a stove plate at the lowest possible setting. Patience and grind mastery may be key to the game. But yes, the shot that comes out is so creamy and satisfying without some of the undesirable characteristics of high pressure/high temper...ature extraction. Trust me, if you get this right, you'll be as ardent a convert as I (vid) have become. 38 years too late. Did you see the sky tonight? Just amazing. This was our first evening at the Love Kingston marketplace. @city.of.kingston, @downtownkingston and @kingstonecdev have done a commendable job of creating new ways of reviving tourist interest and bringing in music, arts and entertainment for our city dwellers to enjoy, while following social distancing. The numerous shaded patio tables on the square, the photo booths, the Adirondacks on market street are inviting, and are being ...diligently sanitized by city staff. Of course, the main attraction for us was not sales. We are across the square anyways. But this place offers us a chance to bring back some of our stellar staff into the workforce and also creates new and fun opportunities. We are taking this slowly but we will launch some really cool projects soon (unless we run out of money...which, as any local business knows, always happens) @ Springer Market Square

We feel safe, optimistic and confident of our procedures and your support enough that starting tomorrow, Friday, both locations would open up to limited indoor seating space. Yesterday, June 27th was Multiculturalism Day Canada. Ironically it was also the day an Indian staff member was racially abused and cafe property was improperly handled by an irate customer who was directed to mask up before entering the premises. This post is not about that.... This post is about the reaffirmation of my beliefs and about my choices. I have been in Kingston since 2014 December, as a student and a worker, and later as a business owner and a community member. Yes there have been ongoing instances that have racial undertones and those singular instances are hard to come to terms with. But after that one incident, which I shared with considerable anger and dismay, I was quickly surrounded by members of the Kingston community. The outpouring of support, love and kindness and the collective sense of shame and apology over that one person's behavior was immense. Over a 1 day period, more than 33 thousand people watched the story on Facebook alone. Businesses, customers, friends, acquaintances and people from far and wide, called, dropped in, messaged, shared and commented. Our phones kept buzzing continuously. We were overwhelmed. This outpouring of support is amazing. We in turn did something for the staff that was a good way of getting the sentiment of the community across to her. We painstakingly printed out all comments received till 9 pm and have them put up as an installation at Kingston centre. I'm sure the situation makes some people uncomfortable. But I am no longer going to stay silent. This is not the first time things of such nature have happened in the community and it certainly wouldn't be the last. But we are here. We are watching. And we will be calling people out. ( shoutout to "SeekN.destroy" on Google for never having stepped inside Kingston coffee house but leaving a 1 star review on some moral grounds that are better suited south of the border ) @ Kingston, Ontario

Is it not enough that business owners have to contend with troubling and uncertain times? Weighing survival of the business and employees against our own health and lives ? Is it not enough that we have to deal with confusing directives from provincial and municipal levels who on one hand are asking we do our best to open up patios, and serve customers from outside our region and on the other, are asking us to ramp up the sanitation and work for 8 hour shifts with masks on ? ...Is it not enough that following the protocols leads to slower service and irate customers who then leave a lasting 1 star review on google that impacts what's left of the business? Apparently NOT. We at Kingston Coffee House are deeply hurt and angered by what one of our staff member had to face this morning. She is from India and has been with us since 2018. @KFLAPH has made masks mandatory starting from today and we are imposing the same on every customer who enters the premises. One caucasian woman entered Kingston Center location today and was asked by our employee to wear a mask. In return, she waited for other customers to leave and started banging the tables and abusing the employee by saying : "you are a bloody Indian who should not be here, your mom and dad haven't raised you well". NO , THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE! As a BIPOC owned business, we would do our best to track her down and make her responsible. Bringing race into the picture was uncalled for and the ensuing racial slurs were horrid and inhuman. You can thank your lucky stars Karen that I wasnt personally at the store. You would've got more than your fair share of an earful had I been on site. ( We understand not everyone wants to follow rules and they are entitled to their opinions. We are only trying to enforce what has been made a guideline. PLEASE BE POLITE to every person trying to serve you in these confusing and challenging times. You have to wear a mask for a few minutes when you come in, our staff is wearing it ALL DAY ! ) @ Kingston Coffee House Inc.

As a BIPOC and recent immigrant, I have never felt a stronger urge to create a group that helps new canadians, immigrants and minorities, settle down to a life of respect and comfort in Canada. Reroot foundation @rerootfoundation is my attempt at solving some of the challenges that new immigrants face. But here's a fact, if everytime the hashtag #blacklivesmatter was used, a micro transaction of 1 cent went as a donation to a centralized cause/group, they'd receive 180,000. And that's only on Instagram.... If every time a black screen was put up yesterday, an auto donation of 10 cents was made, the amount would be 280,000.
