George (solid colour) was a little nervous being away from home. But one of our resident dogs Tangerine, was able to break him out of his shell. And now he is much more comfortable. Sometimes you just need a buddy

We are full for the long weekend! With the weather so warm, we have to do most of our playtime in the evenings. Here Amity (doodle) playing with everyone's friend, Izzy. Izzy is a favourite friend of many of our house guests. He's incredibly patient with young rambunctious pups, gentle and excellent at teaching manners without being too stern ;)

With the heat we've been having, it's important to make sure you're preventing your pups from over heating. Early morning or later evening walks, fans, cooling mats, cooling vests and a dip in the cold pool can all help make this heat a little more tolerable. Not all dogs like other dogs, or strangers. And that's ok. They still need the same enrichment and exercise that other dogs do. We just take some extra precautions. Meeko and I do a little off-roading and head to an area where we won't run into offleash dogs or humans who don't respect his space. He still gets to enjoy a nature walk and a little freedom

Thunder storms! Unfortunately this isn't a happy pup. Dexter isn't a fan of Thunder storms and he sensed one coming in the middle of our walk. This is stress panting, also check out his tucked tail. So what do you do? Don't force anything. He didn't want to walk anymore, so we went home. I put him in his "safe place" our laundry room, closed the window and sat with him until he calmed down a bit. Some tips to help your own dog: -put them in a safe spot where they can't get st...uck trying to hide or hurt themselves trying to escape (covered crate, smaller room) -white noise like a radio or a fan can help drown out the noise from a storm -cuddle and keep them company.. You cannot directly reinforce fear. Petting and snuggling isn't going to make your dog any worse. It's definitely ok to comfort them. -if your dog is at risk of hurting themselves, speak to your vet about some calming meds to help them Also be careful with them outside. A boom of Thunder can cause a dog to panic and bolt, jump a fence or run and hide. See more

Thanks for checking in! I'm currently booking up for dog walking in the Parkland County area. We've got a brand new boarding room just finished and are working on a second one. Limited space is available. I will be offering training in the future once I have a solid schedule figured out. Can currently offer walk and train and basic manners one on one training.
