We are running several workshops in the next month on healthy eating, mindfulness, and stress management! Some workshops are geared towards families, and some are for a general audience. Registration is required. These workshops are open to the local community, but clients of the centre will be prioritized.

The harvest at our Demonstration Garden has begun. In the last few weeks we have harvested and distributed kale, Swiss chard, cherry tomatoes, ground cherries, perilla, Thai basil and Bok choy. Soon we will have beets, carrots, beans, and more!

Today is World Humanitarian Day in which the world commemorates humanitarian workers killed and injured in the course of their work, and we honour all aid and health workers who continue, despite the odds, to provide life-saving support and protection to people most in need. This year World Humanitarian Day comes as the world continues to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. #RealLifeHeros #COVID19 #worldhumanitarianday #healthcareworkers #humanity #globalhealth #respect #service

Have you seen the demonstration garden beds outside the KDCHC office? Since 2015, we have been growing a variety of vegetables in these raised beds. This year, we are growing tomatoes, ground cherries, beets, kale, chard, Bok Choy, Thai basil, and more! We will have lots of produce to share in a couple of months.
