Good luck and have fun, Lillie & Cohoe at the One of a Kind Show and Sale Chicago

KDG Photography 03.01.2022

While portrait and content imagery is my "job", my camera goes everywhere and I love capturing nature and wildlife for "recreation". I am honoured to have had three of my images from this past summer's adventures chosen for the PPOC-BC 2021 Image Salon.

Finding that inner boldness... Creative portraits are one of my favorite things to do. Coordinating a shoot that shows off your personality and showcasing that extra "something" that makes you YOU!... Maybe you've always wanted to do creative portrait session but you've been to scared to book it. Maybe you want to do it but have no idea what exactly you would do. Either way I can help. I also guarantee that if you bite the bullet and do the shoot, you won't regret it. You can look back years later and say, WOW! Look at me! I am

There's many ways to showcase your products. Showcasing products with people, especially if the item is meant to be worn, is a great way to bring interest into the photos and make the item more desirable. When we see something on someone it brings our brains to a place of imagining what it may look like on ourselves. ... Flatlay can do this as well but an image with a person will get your audience there faster and easier. When you only have a small window of time to grab attention, faster is an advantage. So don't shy away from model based shoots. It could make all the difference.

I spent an incredible day at the The Skills Centre in Trail, BC creating images for their new - almost ready to launch - website. I was so impressed with their team - friendly, approachable and so knowledgeable about helping everyone find meaningful employment!

The skies are getting cloudy and the air a wee bit cool. What better way to liven up the fall and stay cozy than with Lillie & Cohoe's line of fall and winter chapeaus. Check out all the styles here https://www.lillieandcohoe.com/. By the way, LOVE the new website!!!

So stoked: World Photographic Cup Team Canada is pleased to announce that an image by Kathryn Gardner, has made it past the Preliminary Round 1 of the WPC Team Canada 2022 selection process. Kathryn's image was chosen by at least one of our esteemed curators to move on to Round 2 for discussion. It takes courage to put your photography forward for a chance to represent Canada, and while there are many rounds involved in the selection process, having an image move on is the first step in the journey. http://www.wpcteamcanada.com

I am thrilled to have achieved my Master of Photographic Arts with the Professional Photographers of Canada. This designation recognizes photographers who have proven their photographic abilities by participating in the Association's National Image Competition and have confirmed their dedication to the profession by serving the Association. My skills as a professional photographer and business owner have improved immeasurably since joining Professional Photographers of Canada in 2013. I would not be where I am today without the support, education and friendship of my fellow members. Thank you to all.

I was walking along my favoutite trail when I happened upon Fern Sabo and Kimberley Hyatt from Spring Creative Marketing and Design. They were out cleaning up a beach along the Kootenay River for Earth Day. Quite the feat getting their wheelbarrow so far down the trail to pack out the garbage. Great job ladies!

It is such a pleasure to photograph Leorah Milne. She has also served as an assistant photographer for me proving Leorah to be as talent behind the camera as she is in front of it!

I love everything about this hat - the colour, the style, the fabric. Beautiful! (They are as much fun to photograph, as they are to wear :-) )

Your portrait is likely to be the first contact you have with potential clients so don’t underestimate the importance of a professional headshot or business portrait. KDG Photography works with you to create the perfect portrait painlessly. Sessions are one-on-one, socially distanced and meet all Covid protocols. For more information, check out www.kdgimages.com, contact me at [email protected], or send a private message today.

Self isolation during the Covid pandemic isn't so bad in the country. Since I can't photograph people right now, I have been having fun checking out the wildlife in and around my home.

I never thought I'd say this, although I much prefer to be with people in person, I have actually grown to enjoy these virtual meetings. This meeting was so productive AND I had a chorus singing Happy Birthday to me! Thanks everyone.
