The girlfriend and her weird growth.
Backlit sunset dock photo. My sister posing with her dog Ceazer.
This is Grenas! Grenas is being fostered by some wonderful people that thought they had some more room in their hearts and home for a doggie in need. Grenas is one of Fetch & Releash's foster dogs and I was excited when I got their call to meet him. I hope these images help him find his forever home.... He is an adorable, well mannered and sleepy poochie, I can't believe how much trouble he didn't give me!
I think I crashed my internet connection... There was supposed to be an adoreable collage of Grenas, the foster dog, but it didn't post... I'll have to try again.
This foster dog got itchy during our shoot...
Went for a hike with my mum to a popular site in Hamilton. Getting up to this rock face from the lower end wasn't terribly difficult, but it would have been a lot easier in the summer! We got our workout by going off the beaten path.
A trip with the cousin and the sister to Hendrie Valley before the sister moved to Quebec led to some bird pictures, a shortcut to mushrooms, and a very photogenic squirrel!
Y'know? I might be terrible at these HDR images. I've seen some really impressive ones, but maybe they are not for me. I think this image would have looked about the same if I just set up the camera in an intentional way to capture what I wanted, either deciding that the shadows or highlights were the most important parts. I'll probably end up trying HDR again. I seem to come back to it from time-to-time. Maybe I just haven't figured out the right circumstances for using it...
I've started recording ambient sound when I am shooting wildlife. Crickets, ducks quacking, water lapping off of rocks, passing voices. So soothing.
Got some really important ducks to photograph today... Just narrowing down the possibilities.
Let's get this weekend started! *sips coffee* "Oops, that butter was salted... Oh well."... After more than three years of photographing a couple and their two young children I finally got to meet more of the family! We had a three hour shoot on Thursday, the second worst day this week for weather, but we made it work! It was almost a disaster as we searched for indoor shoot locations that were affordable, open when we needed them, and big enough! We finally went with our original plan at the then windswept Rockway Gardens. There was no way I was missing out on this opportunity, even after a day-job workday, sleep be damned!
Hey! I'm selling arts! I've made a small selection of gallery images and have plenty more to add. Morgan and I will be finding places to sell our work soon. For now you can check out my sales website at https://kylerooyakkers.shootproof.com/gallery/10470128... The website has special prices, digital copies of the images and many more display options than I could carry on my back to a showing. Check out MK Arts and Frames for updates on when new images are added and where we might be selling! Morgan will be adding some of her illustrations soon. You can go ahead and like and share that page, too, I won't mind.
