You know the old phrase, it takes one to know one? You can’t truly appreciate how awesome/inspiring/caring someone is without first having those qualities within yourself #inspiration #knowyourself #gratitude #epiphany #revelation #elevation #elevateyourself #personalpower

I was listening to Abraham Hicks this morning (as I often do ) and they were talking about how after sleep we have a 17 second window of opportunity to consciously set the tone for the day. If we can make it to 68 seconds - so much better! I’ve heard it over and over again in webinars, professional development training, and podcasts. And over and over again, I keep forgetting about it! The difference with what Abraham has to say, is that we should be focusing on accomp...lishing a feeling rather than a goal. And really, isn’t the feeling the real reason for our goals in the first place? This practice in mindfulness has helped me through some pretty hectic periods in my life, and if I could pin one feeling down that I would like to see more of in the weeks to come it would be RELAXATION. In between work, kids, and getting settled in our new house, relaxation is something I cherish. I challenge you all to choose a feeling and do your best to focus on it for at least 17 seconds before you even roll out of bed tomorrow. And the next day. And the day after. As many days as it takes And if you have a feeling you’re reaching for that you would like to share, please put it in the comments below! #mindfulness #practice #focus #mindset #positivemindset #abrahamhicks #17seconds #mybestlife See more

When you’ve been transient for a few years and decide to settle, unpacking boxes becomes an adventure all it’s own. ***Fair warning: this is a bit of a long story, but I couldn’t share what I’ve learned without all the context behind it*** I’ve laughed big belly laughs, marvelled at memories, and even cried big tears. There are a lot of memories of pivotal times in my life tucked away in these boxes. Times of change, of enlightenment, of hard-earned wisdom, and lots of joy....Continue reading

I’ve been pretty quiet here lately, but I have a pretty awesome reason - I bought a house! And with it, came many lessons. The experience was not without its challenges, as I’m sure most people can relate. Some of them I was warned about, others not so much. In between all the unpacking, patching, and picking out paint colours, I discovered a leak in the basement. Now I know what you may be thinking... that’s it’s terrible luck, that it should have come up during the bu...ying process, etc. Ftr - It’s a new leak, so the previous homeowner is completely off the hook But instead of resenting this new leak that inconveniently surfaced immediately after buying the house, I sat on my new patio chair, on my new patio, surrounded by a beautiful garden that was tended by the previous homeowner and decided: I chose this life, warts and all. With the autumn sunlight peeking through the lush trees that surround my patio, that much was clear. Of course not everything is going to be perfect. If it wasn’t for some of our unpleasant experiences, how would we know what to strive for? What goals would we set? I’m literally surrounded by things I am so grateful for (can you tell I love my patio? ) am I really going to let a little leak take away from all the awesomeness that just came into my life? Hell no! And with that train of thought, I realized this is part of the mindset required for entrepreneurialism. We make our lives and work worth every setback. We take pride in our work. There’s a sense of accomplishment in every repair. And I love every minute of it Do you have a setback in your life or business that you’re grateful for? #entrepreneurlife #entrepreneur #challenge #setback #mindset #positivity #positive #ichosethislife #wartsandall See more
