Today’s #wisdomwednesday by @lovebrainreset1 If you're struggling to recover from post concussion syndrome and you're finding things hard, then I want you to know that you're as valuable a person on the tough days as you are on the good days. Earlier on in my recovery from PCS, there were some really difficult days. I felt ashamed of myself for the state I was in. I felt I was letting my husband and children down. I'd get depressed about how I behaved or how I came across ...to others due to my symptoms. I ended up feeling pretty helpless and hopeless at times. But I came to the powerful realization that, no matter what state I was in, I was still a valuable human being. Deep down, I knew I was still loved by the Creator or the Universe, which brought me comfort (even though I struggled to understand why my car accident had happened). But, you know, it doesn't matter whether you have a faith or not. The important thing is to know that you're a person of great worth and value every single day. Your worth is not tied up in who you are on your best days. It's the same, no matter what kind of a day you're having. And so I urge you every day to remind yourself of how valuable you are. You are a precious human being. Treat yourself without judgement and with forgiveness. Show yourself mountains of self-acceptance, self-love and self-compassion. It all helps make the journey easier. #keepyourheadup #tbi #positivity #concussionrecovery #concussion #wisdom #strong #community #kyhu #braininjuryawareness #braininjury

Last week we launched the wellness plan challenge to help us get through this 3rd lockdown here in Ontario The first lockdown was hardthis third one is a whole new level of difficult. We have to be honest here, despite the best of intentions it hasn’t been easy for us to follow the wellness plan either. With so many responsibilities for work, school, etc. it’s so hard to find the time and energy to do anything for us, even though we know deep down the time would be a grea...t investment because it will make us feel better. These times when it is the hardest to muster up the energy to take care of our mental health are when we need it the most. What do you do to prioritize self care when times are hard? What helps you to make time for your mental health and well-being during a tough time? Share below #resilience #community #wellness #mentalwellness #selfcare #lockdown #keepyourheadup

Today’s #wisdomwednesday by @babesnbrains We are all created for a purpose. Our struggles shape us in countless ways. After about 5 years of confusion, pain, and condition that I just can’t describe how it feels to have, I find myself constantly asking why did this have to happen to me? These thoughts are toxic and will only lead to sadness and doubt. In our moments of questioning, frustration, and fear, we must remember that our struggles are shaping us into a beautiful ...picture. Every moment, memory, and experience works to make you the beautiful person you are. Having a debilitating disability such as a brain injury is something that you just can’t explain. It feels as if it robs you from every single thing there is in life. It sometimes feels as if you have lost everything. We must remember that good things are to come and that there are others out there that are just like us. Cling to those who understand you and pray for those who don’t. You don’t always have to have it figured out, but just remember that your pain will blossom you into a beautiful picture. #keepyourheadup #braininjury #resilience #selflove #concussion #stronger #strength #motivation #concussionsupport #traumaticbraininjury #community

For the month of April, we created a symptom tracker. Trying to understand and recognize the onset of concussion symptoms can be confusing. This tool is an easy and effective way to monitor your symptoms associated with what you eat and drink. Becoming aware of what you consume and when a symptom arises can help you identify potential triggers. Note: This tool is designed for symptom tracking and is not intended for daily food tracking.... We encourage you to check out this awesome tool!
