Tenants in Toronto held a press conference in front of John Tory's condo yesterday, and laid out a legal basis for a citywide eviction moratorium. The video is around 45 minutes, but is well worth a watch.

Bill 184 was officially passed into law today. Given Ford's majority, this was always a foregone conclusion. That won't make its effects any less painful. If you are behind on rent, expect your landlord to show up soon with a proposal for how you can start paying off your debt in monthly installments.
