It is very rewarding to "Share" our history & culture/traditional ways with other Indigenous people of the South, had a blast with the Costa Rican group here at the Lodge, singing for them and they danced...also exchange students from South America, Brasil, practice my-espaƱol...I have fun with them! and they share with me as well <3
Keeseekoowenin Traditional Mini Pow-Wow is Thursday-August 22nd according to the schedule of Treaty Week events (Grand Entry @ Noon-Grand Exit @ 9pm) at Keeseekoowenin Traditional Pow-Wow Arbor, in the valley, (the arbor is situated north of Keesee's Ojibway Downs Race Track). Keeseekoowenin Ojibway First Nation/Treaty #2, is adjacent to Elphinstone, MB., located off Hwy #45. *Want to see the Mini Pow-Wow (turn into Elphinstone and follow the PTH #354 north into the valley about 3kms, you will see the Race Track/barns in the valley, turn right/east to the bridge, @ the next crossing turn left/north and you will come to the Traditional Pow-Wow grounds of Keeseekoowenin Ojibway First Nation-Treaty 2 Territory. Pow-Wow time...*absolutely no alcohol/drugs allowed.
