As if there weren’t enough reasons to #ShopLocal, here is one more: our #CIBD2021 Contest for Book Lovers! Have you ever dreamed of learning an Indigenous lang...uage, baking bread with a beloved novelist, having a book character named after you, or learning about local exploration from Survivorman himself? We’ve worked with publishers to put together some incredible prizes that will appeal to readers of all ages and interests. Any book purchased from any Canadian independent bookstore on April 24-25 will count as one entry for your favourite prize. There is no limit to the number of books you can buy. The contest opens on April 24. Visit cibabooks.ca to check out the prizes and start drafting your books to buy list! #IndieBookstoreDay #IndieBookstores #ShopLocal #ReadTheWorld #ContestsCanada #AmReading #ToReadList https://bit.ly/3umcAfJ

We are so proud of Smokii and his poetry collection, you are enough, which won the 2019 Indigenous Voices Award for Published Poetry in English. This is a powerhouse of a collection. Smokii's poems are raw and deeply emotional and, sometimes, hilarious. Reflections on sex, gender, identity, on finding one's way in an often harsh world. And, overall, there is the uplifting message: you are enough, just as you are. Read Muskrat Magazine's review of you are enough here: http://muskratmagazine.com/you-are-enough-love-poems-for-t/
