I'm no expert birdwatcher or bird photographer but I do like my front page photo today of two young bald eagles fighting over a scrap of food.

A Mount Pearl shed fire could have turned out much worse had a neighbour not noticed the early morning fire and alerted the homeowner.

The driver of this tractor trailer was taken to hospital after it burst into flames this morning on the TCH.

I've been on the scene of hundreds of motor-vehicle collisions and incidents, have had a few close calls when drivers are paying more attention to the accident than the road but this one last night was a bit scary. Thankfully no one was seriously hurt. And for the record(because one commenter said I was in the way), before I started taking photos, I helped out on scene by stopping traffic and keeping one of the dogs calm so it didn't run off. I go out of my way to STAY out of the way.

Not a nice way to start off the new year. Such a sad day for the family.
