I'm sure this resonates with some of you today lol. On the plus side, this means things are trying to warm up and full spring is in the air! All this extra moisture will be good for greenery too! Just a reminder that we are near the end of April () and this means very few weeks left to book in with me before I'm gone forever

Alright, here's my big news everyone....I'm moving to Sandspit, British Columbia come June! I have the opportunity to work at a fishing lodge for the summer until September but I'm not likely to return to Alberta after the fact. I wanted to forewarn my clients so they can book out some appointments for the following months. As excited as I am for this new adventure, I will miss you all dearly. Sylvan has embraced me and I have met some of the most amazing people and I can't t...hank you all enough for that! IF COVID affects my ability to work away, I will stay here but that remains to be seen, things can change at any time with this pandemic.

! I'm sure all of us have experienced this at some point or another. All the more reason to make consistent appointment times with yours truly . Just a reminder, due to the extension of the lockdown, please be sure to get a prescription for your massage appointment from a doctor, chiropractor, physiotherapist or acupuncturist

11 days away from a romantic time! This would be a great day to give your partner a massage....or buy a gift certificate so I can do it for you

Some of you may have seen this or heard about it. I haven't received confirmation from my association about it yet, but I do anticipate hearing something about it soon! If you know the time stamp for it on the official live video, could you please send it to me? Thank you!!!

This was made by my friend and fellow RMT. Please submit this to your MLA. If you are someone who receives regular massage therapy care & would like to partake in having our voices HEARD as to why this professional therapy is ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL right now, then below you will find a letter template that you can copy & paste into your e-mail and make the necessary edits to tailor to your case specifically. In the comments below you will find a link to locate whoever your spec...ific MLA is that this letter will need to be sent to. ............................. To The Honourable [MLA Name] As a client of a massage therapist in Alberta, I am extremely disappointed to hear that their professional practice has been closed due to the recent COVID-19 restrictions imposed by the government. I am concerned that massage therapists are being categorized with other personal services that are not related to health management. My massage therapist is following government protocols like other health professionals, including chiropractors and physiotherapists. If massage therapy had also been regulated by the Government of Alberta, there would be no doubt in their efficacy and professionalism and thus, not be subject to this defense. I believe massage therapy is an essential health service that must be available to people during this time of increased stress and hardship. Massage therapy is essential to my health because . My massage therapist is registered with the Natural Health Practitioners of Canada (NHPC) a professional member association with standards very similar to those in provinces where massage therapy is regulated. I am confident that NHPC massage therapists are skilled, professional, and essential to provincial health care. Please allow massage therapists belonging to professional associations to be exempt from the current restrictions so we can continue to have a choice in which health services we choose to utilize ourselves. Thank-you for your attention to this matter. [Your Name] https://www.assembly.ab.ca//members-of-the-legislative-ass

Hey everyone, just wanted to share an email that I sent to my MLA. I encourage you all to do the same. I will make another post with a sample letter that you can send. Dear Honourable Devin Dreeshen, First off, I would like to thank you for taking the time to read this during a very trying time for all Albertans. I understand that you must be extremely busy trying to keep up on the duties of your job and all the new tasks that you have with COVID19.... I have been a registered massage therapist for a decade now and have helped countless individuals through a variety of physical and mental ailments. I find it so unfortunate that my clients can’t access my care, especially when it is needed most. These are some of the most stressful times that any of us have endured, and I know that massage therapy has been so key for the bulk of my clients to make it through this pandemic. Imagine, not being able to lift your arm up to drink your coffee, put your shirt on, brush your teeth or not being able to walk around because the bottom of your foot is so inflamed/painful or suffering intense headaches/migraines due to weather change or the extra stress that’s been added to your plate. I implore you to speak to whoever it is that you need to speak to so that massage therapy can be regulated, so we can be seen as healthcare practitioners, same as chiropractors and physiotherapist. Again, thank you for your time. I wish you and your family the best of health and a Merry Christmas and New Year! Sincerely, Kelly Sweet
