Steve’s (husband) Mom and Dad bought property here on Bowyer Island in the Salish sea (Howe sound) he thinks in 1960. The man that homesteaded the island wanted the average working man the opportunity to buy on this beautiful Island so Steve’s parents jumped on board and they were told to pay what they could. They paid 500 dollars a year and put up a tiny shack where they with their with 4 kids stayed in summers and then slowly built this amazing summer place! Ann was quit...e a visionary and very creative as is obvious looking into every detailed corner of this beautiful place. According to Steve, Chris (his dad) followed Ann’s most detailed direction and it all came together with the help of so many friends and family in 2 years. The island is accessible by boat only, so all materials were brought over on floats or on their small 14 boat (check out the size of the window in the living area) There is no power, no roads, we use propane stove and fridge, and have a few solar powered lights.
