The Wainwright Arts Council would like to thank everyone who made the 2020 Arts Festival such a great event!!! Our fantastic sponsors help make this a reality i...n our small town, and we are so grateful to our community members for always coming out in great numbers to support our event! Our major sponsors are Wainwright Star News, Norris Ford Sales, and Stalco Insurance, and each help us out in an important way. Star News helps us with our advertising and hall rental, Norris Ford helps us with the other costs associated with running such a large event, and Stalco Insurance is our Art Bucks sponsor. Thanks to the Wainwright Public Library for hosting the first annual Youth Art Show & the Literary Night. We appreciate all the youth that participated in the show, and the local writers who were willing to share their work at the open mic night. Thanks to the artists for always creating amazing work to display at the Art Show & Sale, and to the musicians who add to the atmosphere of the show. If you purchased a piece of art from the show, please know you have made a local artist very happy! We would also like to give extra special thanks to our family, friends and fellow artists (and their families) who help set-up and take-down the show. They really do all the heavy lifting, and the show wouldn't happen without them! We are really grateful to Integra Tire Wainwright - Jerry Rentz for letting us use their enclosed trailer to move the contents of our storage locker at Wainwright Self Storage in one trip! (What a time saver!) We'd also like to thank Alex & Michaela from The Honeypot Eatery & Pub for taking care of every last detail for the wine, beer & cheese on the Friday evening of the Art Show & Sale. We are so grateful for their outstanding service & hospitality. This year our patron saints of the arts included Harold Rathje, Dwayne Guy, Daardi Almberg, Jess McEvoy, Wes Taylor, Bonnie Smith, Wayne Moskie, and John Smith. It’s been a bit since I’ve posted something new here - and yet I’ve been busy sculpting - and making new pieces. Take a look!

Well, it’s after Christmas and now it’s time to start thinking about the Wainwright Art Show and sale coming up Feb. 21-22. I’ve been working hard this past year sculpting a lot of new pieces, some of which I’ve posted and some of which I have not. I hope anyone in the area who has a chance to come by does so, and make a day of it! Here’s a sneak peek of a few things that will be making their way to the show!
