Snacking done right Truth be told I’m not the biggest fan of snacking for everyone. Often times those with digestive issues feel better on three main meals a day with snacks as needed. However, this is largely dependent on many different factors including your level of activity, stress, hormones etc. Lately I’ve been finding that snacks have been so necessary to fuel me through the day! Often times when we think about snacking our brain immediately jumps to things like ...crackers, energy bars, a handful of chips etc. While there’s no such thing as bad foods and in many instances these types of snacks are absolutely fine, you can definitely get the most nutritional bang for your buck by expanding your snack horizons to focus on whole, unprocessed foods Optimal snacks can be a small bowl of leftovers, nuts and seeds, banana with sun butter, cheese and apple,carrots and hummus, whole grain toast with avocado or a smoothie. Perhaps this year more than ever we are reflecting on the field of mental health and the value that helping professionals bring to our community. The past year has undoubtedly brought its fair share of challenges that have impacted us all in different ways. The need for mental health professionals is perhaps stronger now than it has ever been. I would like to take this time to share some exciting news with you all. This past year, I have embarked upon a new journey, completi...ng my Masters in Counselling Psychology (MACP) It is my hope that becoming a registered psychotherapist will provide a comprehensive and well-rounded holistic practice that embodies a mind, body and self approach to healing. I am truly grateful for this experience to grow my skill set and eager to share these skills with my clients. Throughout my program, I will continue my online offerings with the the intent to resume my in person sessions when this leg of the journey is complete.
