We are open! All massages will remain as scheduled for the upcoming lockdown. I had already planned to take this next week off in order to avoid clients who may have visited family for Easter and returned for massages asymptomatic but unknowingly contagious. So all massage appointments that are currently scheduled are to remain so unless I receive further direction otherwise ... I look forward to seeing you all on the table! Kelly

Did you know your baby can come to your massage with you? Not only CAN they come, they’re completely welcomed Sometimes it isn’t easy to get out of the house without babe in that first year postpartum! Frequent feeds, sleeping schedules, and just needing comfort make it hard to leave the littles at home. But you don’t have to ... I’ve had babies-sleep in their carseats for the whole appointment -be snuggled while parents lie on their sides on the massage table -be breast/chestfed while I massage their parents -sit in our bumbo seat or on a play mat with toys -and even had babies in a carrier on me while I massaged their parent! Your babies are welcome at your massage Featured in this picture is Anita of Holistic Health Physio - Bump, Birth & Beyond and her baby Jack! Check out Anita’s page for lots of pregnancy, birth and postpartum info and tips

A lot of you have been asking how my school is going this year. It's not! Or rather, it is, but I'm not attending Although my school Southern Ontario College of Osteopathy IS open, I've decided to wait to resume learning until in-person learning is possible again ... In the meantime, I've been picking up a lot of hobbies! I've started -journaling -making macrame (mostly plant hangers) -doing yoga -meditating -reading -baking -organizing -and I picked up watercolour painting! I know I am fortunate to have the time to pick these hobbies up, and that for many people the pandemic has added more chaos than downtime to their life, so I'm very grateful Have you picked up any hobbies during the pandemic? Do any of them save your sanity? Meditation has been a lifesaver for me! PS Here's a pic of my watercolour painting work- I am a beginner, but all my work at henna has lended itself well to painting!

Online booking is back!! . My online booking system is back up and running! Appointments are available now starting on September 14th. I have hardly massaged anyone since March, I can’t wait to see you all! . . A few things:.... . masks will be mandatory during appointments. I see too many people in a day, in a small room, all within their 6ft bubble, for this to be negotiable. This is for patient safety, clinic safety, and my own safety. Please respect this rule. . my body needs to get stronger! I’m taking on slightly less clients for the first few weeks as my body gets strong enough to massage a full client load again . my hours have changed a bit to allow for a better work/life balance. More daytime hours are available and less evening hours . I will need to screen patients for Covid symptoms prior to their appointments and upon arrival. . That’s all for now! Have questions? Drop them in the comments or shoot me a PM . . . . . #massage #reopening #covidbusiness #newnormal #rmt #massagetherapy #peterborough #ptbo See more

Hello friends! I’M BACK! It's been a looooooong time. The pandemic has been crazy! ... I haven't posted on this social media account since August. AUGUST. How wild. The pandemic has really thrown me for a loop. But it's also shown me the things that are really important in my life, and I have learned to cherish those things. I learned the value of doing 'nothing' in a day without guilt. I have learned the value of filling my day with 'somethings', too. I took the last month off of work for the duration of the initial proposed lockdown (Dec 26th-Jan 23rd) in order to avoid a spike of asymptomatic cases following family gatherings over the holidays. Now that the holidays have passed and gatherings have decreased, I plan to return to work. Today! Ready to fill my day with 'somethings' again. Any appointments booked from today onwards (unless contacted otherwise) are planned as scheduled! I'm excited to see all of you in the clinic again and catch up. I hope you've all been keeping well, Kelly PS the model in this photo is Anita of @holistichealthphysio ‘s baby Jack! Hard to believe he’s not that little anymore!

Having a tough time getting by without your massage? Why not try chiropractic! Thrive Health Ptbo has posted a great video to show you all they are doing to be prepared so that you can have a safe, sanitary appointment It will still be a while before I’m able to be open for massage appointments- but chiropractic is a great option in the meantime, and also a great compliment to your massage treatments for once things with me are back up and running!

Are you pregnant, and wishing you could get a massage? I miss seeing all of the beautiful bellies at the studio! Here's a small list of a few things you can try to feel your best during pregnancy, even without massage: ... -Yoga! Moving your body in pain-free ways has been shown to increase mobility and actually to decrease pain. The Willow Studio - Yoga, Fitness, Pilates has lots of prenatal and postpartum yoga options you can do online right now, and many even involve pelvic floor cueing. -Chiropractic The practitioners at Thrive Health Ptbo really know what they're doing when it comes to pregnancy. Their in-depth assessment skills and their knowledge base will be sure to help decrease your discomfort. Check them out, they even have online booking! -Pelvic Health Physiotherapy Anita Lambert of Holistic Health Physio - Bump, Birth & Beyond knows all things pelvis, and more. Her training as a pelvic health physiotherapist means she can be a big help for problems like SI joint pain, lower back pain, pubic symphysis pain, round ligament pain, and more. She also has training in birth work and can help you prepare for labour! She is local and is currently offering virtual appointments which can be booked online. -General discomfort with specific movements: There's an app called "Rost Moves Mamas" that is free in the app store, it was developed by Cecile Röst, a pelvic health physiotherapist from the Netherlands. In the app, you can see simply laid out suggestions for ways to perform various daily activities without causing pain. (It is better to see a professional to see where your pain might be coming from, but this is a good start). If you have any questions about what your can do from home for your problem specifically, please email me at [email protected] and I would be happy to help! Have you been doing something different from these, that's been a lifesaver for your quarantine pregnancy? Tell me about it!

Have you heard of the rebozo Manteada move? It feels great in pregnancy AND during labour! I teach this move in my prenatal classes, and Anita teaches it to lots of expecting parents through her appointments and courses it used to be called ‘rebozo sifting’, but Manteada honours the cultural roots of the Rebozo so much more This pic is from when Anita was pregnant with baby Jack! Time flies- I miss being back at the clinic!

PRACTICE UPDATE: First of all I would like to thank all of my valued clients for their patience and support over the last two and a half months. These have been confusing times and I would like to clarify as much as I can about the announcement made last week and how it pertains to my own Massage Therapy practice. On Wednesday, May 27th the Ontario Government and the Ontario Chief Medical Officer of Health provided a new directive for Regulated Health Professionals that all...Continue reading
