Haven’t been able to get out and photograph aircraft. Here is a kit that I completed a couple of weeks ago. The de Havilland DH82 Tiger Moth. Built by the de Havilland Aircraft Company in the 1930’s. The Tiger Moth became the primary trainer throughout the Commonwealth and elsewhere. It was the principle type used in the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan including here at Penhold. The Tiger Moth’s handling was ideal for training future fighter pilots. Generally docile and forgiving in the normal flight phases encountered during initial training. The Harvard Histotical Aviation Society is currently restoring a Tiger Moth for flight status.

Ever since the pandemic hit this past spring I got back into building models. Something I have not done since I was a kid. I forgot how much I loved doing this. Since I haven’t had much time to make it out to the airport lately I figured I would post up some of my aviation model work. Currently I am also working on a De Havilland Tiger Moth as well as a RAF P-51 Mustang. Pictured here is the RAF P-40 Kittyhawk. I have also started another project on a Typhoon. This one is a large project and will post up photos as I am moving along as well as some history to go along with it.

I am way behind on editing and posting. Here is one of the airplanes that flew into the HHAS event at the Red Deer Airport.
