Minutes for the Kelowna Martial Arts Society Meeting November 3rd 2014. 1. Mr Chris Rowe called the meeting to order. 2. Resignation of President Following the Resignation of the President last month, Miss Catherine Johnson let her name stand for President. Nominated by Pat Martin, Seconded by Trish Cenci. Catherine was unanimously voted in.... 3. Lethbridge TKD Tournament May 9th and 10th 2015 one of the events we are hoping to support Players at next year is the Lethbridge Tournament. Chris Rowe is currently looking to get an idea of numbers. So far M Johnson, C Johnson, Mason, D Desrosier & C Benedict, have expressed an interest in attending. Please Let Mr Rowe know if you wish to attend as soon as possible. It was felt that $2,400 would be needed to hire a bus and driver, unless someone from the Club with the appropriate Licence might volunteer to drive. 4. Raising funds October Summary The BBQ on October 25th raised $200. 5. Future suggestions for fund raising Regal Cards & Wrapping Paper Mark is going to look into this. Christmas Party Silent Auction Table It was suggested that the bulk of the Silent Auction items should be of a lower price value - $15 -$20, so that more people would feel able to bid on them. Also suggested a Baking Table any items baked for sale please ensure no nuts. Sales table anyone wishing to have a sales table at the Party can do so with 10% of profits to be donated to KMAS. 6. Minutes for the Kelowna Martial Arts Society Meeting October 6th 2014. 1. Connie Vetter Johnson called the meeting to order. 2. Resignation of President Connie announced that she was having to step down as President of KMAs, due to her recent transfer to the Lower Mainland with work. This will leave the Presidents post vacant and we will need to vote in a new President at the November meeting.... 3. Raising funds initiatives - A BBQ is set for October 25th at 10 a.m. during the SKILLS Belt Grading Event. 4. Future suggestions for fund raising Craft Fair before Christmas. Ruth was going to look into potential Community Advertising. 5. Future support for Athletes it has been suggested that KMAS support Competitors attending the Lethbridge event on May 9th and 10th 2015. Mr Rowe is to look into the costs of renting a bus. It was suggested that we look to get an idea of who is planning to compete to assess potential size of bus required. 6. Current Balance in KMAS fund - $1500. 7. Meeting closed 8.15 p.m. 8.
