Spotlight on Past Student Jerome Laroche! Jerome is a graduate of the Kelowna Actors Studio Academy (Grades 10 thru 12) and has done several shows at the Kelowna Actors Studio, most recently Evil Dead - The Musical as Scott. Other productions include The Little Mermaid, The Rocky Horror Show, Mamma Mia, The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Sister Act, to name but a few . ... He also works at Kelowna Tickets as well, he's an Assistant Instructor for several Studio Kidz classes as well as the main instructor for The Little Mermaid Jr., and currently The Addams Family Young@Part in Lake Country. During the day he works at Gray Monk Winery.

Spotlight on Kelowna Actors Studio Academy, Past Student Josie Schmalz! Josie’s first class at the Actors Studio was RENT in 2012. She loved it so much that she went on to perform in more shows as well working backstage. Her favourite productions include playing Prissy Andrew’s in Anne of Green Gables as well as All Shook Up, Sister Act and Mary Poppins.... Josie was accepted to the Canadian College of Performing Arts (CCPA) in 2019 and will be graduating this June 2021 with her Performing Arts Diploma. Despite having the pandemic hit in the middle of her time at CCPA Josie was still able to choreograph a tap piece for the first time and will be playing Josephine Strong in Urinetown the musical this coming May that will be live streamed! Josie has had a wonderful time during her years at the Actors Studio and CCPA and she can’t wait to see what the future holds!

Spotlight on Past Kelowna Actors Studio Student - Celeste Catena! Celeste’s first production at the Kelowna Actors Studio was Shrek, all the way back in 2013! This sparked a real passion for theatre, and she was involved in many productions in the years to come. Her favourites include Mary Magdalene in Jesus Christ Superstar, Miss Shields in A Christmas Story, and dancing her heart out in the ensemble of Mary Poppins. Prior to the pandemic, Celeste was to be performing in Ch...icago and Here’s What It Takes in the 2020 Stratford Festival season. However, plans change, and now Celeste has just finished her final week of classes at Sheridan College, and will be graduating with a Bachelor of Music Theatre Performance. In their 4th Year production, she was able to play the role of Leading Player in Pippin. In the summer, Celeste is looking forward to returning to Stratford, performing in a Shakespeare-inspired Cabaret entitled, Play On!

Spotlight on Past Student Emily Dehod Emily joined KAS at the age of 9 starting with classes and at the age of 12 was cast in her first show, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Her favourite shows over the years have been Chicago as Hunyak, Shrek and Spring Awakening with the Senior Performance Troupe.... She recently graduated from the third year program, Company C, at The Canadian College of Performing Arts in Victoria and is currently auditioning for film roles and working towards her goals of creating choreography for new work projects.

Summer Theatre Artistic Training Experience (S.T.A.T.E.) With Full Final Production This program is a three week intensive for 12-18 year olds and offers a "total theatre immersion program taught by Artistic Managing Director, Randy Leslie. ... Randy will be joined by professional guest instructors in music and dance as well as a ZOOM workshop with a Teaching Professional that works on Broadway. Spotlight on Current Student - Deslyn Bach! Deslyn started with the Kelowna Actors Studio in a spring break camp back in 2016. She and her family had just moved to Kelowna from Vancouver and she was excited to get involved with a new theatre company. After being in multiple junior summer camps, Deslyn auditioned for the main stage shows in 2017. Later that year, she played Susan Waverly in the main stage production of White Christmas, and has since done nine main stage produ...ctions - favourites including The Rocky Horror Show and Evil Dead (Cheryl). She has also done four Senior Performance Troupes with her favourite being Carrie (Carrie) and Godspell. Aside from her performing, Deslyn began assistant teaching the junior classes in 2017 with her first class being Mary Poppins. She has taught six classes and is currently getting ready for the Matilda Jr. shows and performing in the Senior Performance Troupe's production of Disenchanted. She has been busy auditioning to continue her post secondary education in musical theatre.

Spotlight on Past Student Cassidy Hergott! Cassidy discovered KAS and her passion for theatre at 9 years old when she did her first class, Alice in Wonderland Jr. Since then she has done countless shows on stage, backstage, and as an assistant teacher. ... Her favourite roles at KAS include Natalie in Next to Normal, Andrina in The Little Mermaid, and Sue in Carrie. Cassidy graduated from KASA in 2019. Cassidy recently finished her first year studying acting at Studio 58 in Vancouver!
